PSAC Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week - 7

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference released its Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week. For the women, Slippery Rock's Anna Igims (Track) and East Stroudsburg's Samiyah Little (Field) were honored. For the men, Shippensburg's Bernard Bell III is Track Athlete of the Week while Slippery Rock's Drew Layton was selected as Field Athlete of the Week.

Igims took fourth in an elite field of the 5K at the GVSU Big Meet with a career-best and NCAA provisional time of 16:36.79. That effort is first in the PSAC by more than 40 seconds and is currently ranked No. 12 in Division II. Igims now ranks No. 1 in the PSAC in the mile, 3K and 5K and is the only distance runner in the PSAC to reach the NCAA standard in any of those three events.

Whigham set collegiate bests in both of her jumps this weekend at Liberty's Darius Dixon Memorial Invitational. On Friday, Whigham enhanced her collegiate best in the long jump, posting an eighth-place finish of 18 feet, 11 inches (5.77 meters) that came on her second attempt. It surpassed her jump of 18 feet, 10 ¾ inches (5.76 meters) that she achieved in the season opener at the beginning of December. Both of those marks are NCAA provisional qualifiers. She remains the PSAC leader in the event and ranks 34th on the national list. On Saturday, Whigham enhanced her PR in the triple jump to 36 feet, 9 ¾ inches (11.22 meters). That moved her to eighth on the league leaderboard in that event.

Fellin ran a NCAA provisional time of 6.73 to win the 60m and improved upon his school record in the event at the Widener Indoor Classic Saturday. The time is tied for fastest in the PSAC this season with Slippery Rock's Kanye Thompson. He also had a 21.93 in the 200m, which ranks fourth in the conference and placed third overall out of 51 competitors.

Wozniak won the shot put at the SPIRE Collegiate Indoor Games with a new Slippery Rock program record of 17.33 meters. That effort topped the former SRU record of 17.26m that had stood since 2018. Wozniak's NCAA mark also moved him up to No. 16 on the Division II leaderboard.
