PSAC Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week - 9

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. --- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference released its Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week. For the men, Kutztown's Michael Fellin earned Track Athlete of the Week honors while Slippery Rock's Zach Gose was selected as Field Athlete of the Week. For the women, California's Loreena Manser (Track) and Edinboro's Jada Cole (Field) were honored.

Fellin set a new school record in the 55-meter dash, Friday, as KU hosted the Golden Bear Invitational. Fellin ran the second-fastest time in school history with a 6.33 in prelims before breaking Keith Crowell's 2000 school record of 6.32 with a 6.31 in the finals to win the event. Friday's meet marked Fellin's final tune-up before he looks to defend his 60m title at the PSAC Indoor Championships. The Sheppton, Pa., native currently ranks second in the PSAC and 21st in NCAA Division II with a season-best 6.74.

Gose was the only PSAC male field athlete this week to improve on his own NCAA provisional mark from earlier this season. He took fifth in the elite section of the weight throw at the Ashland Last Chance Meet with a new career-best of 19.21 meters. That throw is the second best throw in SRU history and was the first time in his career he topped the 19.00-meter mark. Gose also took second in the unseeded section of the shot put Saturday at Ashland with a PSAC qualifying mark in his secondary event.

Manser improved her PSAC-leading time in the 200-meter dash on Friday at the Penn State Tune-Up. She posted a time of 24.35 seconds to finish second overall behind an unattached entry (2024 Canadian Olympian). Manser now boasts the fastest time in the 200 meters on the PSAC Performance List this year by nearly seven-tenths of a second. The Virginia native recorded the second-fast time in school history in the event while at Penn State behind only two-time National Champion Divonne Franklin, who holds the all-time PSAC record.

Cole cleared an Edinboro record 1.73 meters in the high jump which ties her for 17th in Division II this season at the Ashland Last Chance on Saturday.
