PSAC Women's Lacrosse Athletes of the Week - 10

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its next set of Women's Lacrosse Athletes of the Week. In the East, West Chester's Keri Barnett (Athlete of the Week) and Millersville's KC O'Neill (Defensive Athlete of the Week) were selected. In the West, Slippery Rock's Abby Fink (Athlete) and Lock Haven's Gretchen King (Defensive) were recognized.

Keri Barnett (Glenolden, Pa./Archbishop Carroll) scored 12 goals and assisted on four others during another 2-0 week for West Chester University women’s lacrosse as the Golden Rams concluded the regular season unbeaten and stretched their regular season winning streak to 60 games. Barnett scored five goals and added three assists vs Shepherd along with six caused turnovers, five ground balls, and three draw controls on April 13. On Saturday at Bloomsburg, Barnett finished the regular season with seven goals and one assist for eight points along with seven draw controls, one caused turnover, and one ground ball. Barnett’s seven goals on Saturday helped her set a new single-season scoring record for WCU, scoring 97, which broke All-American Kathleen Sheehan’s record of 93 goals during the 2004 season. She is also now just one goal shy of the PSAC single-season record of 98 scored Emily Mitarotonda last season.

KC O'Neill helped Millersville remain unblemished with a 2–0 sweep this past week. In their win against No. 17 Kutztown, O'Neill had a career-high of 17 saves against the nationally ranked Golden Bears. She held Kutztown to four goals total, and all the Golden Bears' goals came in the first half. O'Neill posted seven saves in the third quarter and four in the fourth to help Millersville win by a 10–4 landslide. In their most recent 13–12 win over the Raiders, O'Neill posted eight saves and collected three ground balls. The sophomore has found her rhythm, and her composure has helped the Marauders earn their first playoff appearance since 2022.

Fink led Slippery Rock to a 2-0 week that included wins over PSAC Playoff qualifiers Seton Hill and Lock Haven, finishing the week with 10 goals and one assist for 11 points. She also grabbed five ground balls and caused two turnovers on the week. She opened the week by scoring four goals in an 11-10 win over Seton Hill that locked up the first PSAC West division title in SRU program history and then closed the week by tying her career-high for points with six goals and one assist in an 18-11 win over Lock Haven.

Gretchen King started this week with nine saves in the win against Gannon, but she was not done there. King became the first Lock Haven lacrosse goalkeeper to make 22 saves in a game since 1998 to lead the Bald Eagles to a thrilling 11-10 victory over Indiana (Pa.) on Wednesday afternoon at Charlotte Smith Field. The Haven clinched a berth in the 2025 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) Championship Tournament with the victory. After making 22 saves in her last outing, Lock Haven goalkeeper King had another strong showing on Saturday against nationally ranked Slippery Rock and finished with 14 saves. King finished the regular season with 173 saves, which ranks third all-time in program history. The Lock Haven Women's Lacrosse team ends their regular season 9-7 overall and 6-4 in the conference, giving them the third spot in the PSAC West.
