LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced that nine different institutions have claimed Top Team GPA Awards for the 2024-25 academic year, with Slippery Rock University claiming the highest institutional average in the conference with a 3.489 combined GPA across 15 teams.
The Top Team GPA awards are in their 14th year of existence and are issued across 21 PSAC-sponsored sports.
The awards, released at the conclusion of every academic year, honor the teams with the top cumulative team grade point average in each of the sponsored sports within the PSAC. The conference sponsors 23 sports in total, however, for award purposes, indoor and outdoor track & field are counted as a single sport.
Along with Slippery Rock, which had five different teams with conference-high GPAs to lead the PSAC, Seton Hill and Gannon each claimed four teams with conference-best marks while East Stroudsburg had three teams that were tops in the league. Bloomsburg, California, IUP, Millersville, and Pitt-Johnstown were all honored with a Top Team GPA Award.
Slippery Rock’s top programs honored include men's track & field (3.356), men’s soccer (3.516 GPA), women’s lacrosse (3.713), women’s tennis (3.723), and women’s soccer (3.752).
Seton Hill’s four program-highs were football (3.052), baseball (3.445), women’s track & field (3.690), and women’s volleyball (3.714).
Gannon boasted the best team GPAs in wrestling (3.180), men’s swimming (3.616), men’s cross country (3.746), and women’s cross country (3.793).
For the third consecutive year, there was a slight increase in overall average GPA in the PSAC, with 2024-25's total of 3.338 ahead of 2023-24's 3.323.
