PSAC ranks second in Division II Make-A-Wish fundraising; four institutions earn Wish Reveals

INDIANAPOLIS – The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference ranked second nationally in fundraising for the Make-A-Wish Foundation among all NCAA Division II conferences, raising a total of $44,636 during the 2025-26 academic year. The total marks an increase of more than $3,000 from the previous year and represents the third consecutive year the PSAC has ranked among the top two fundraising conferences in Division II.

Additionally, thanks to exemplary fundraising efforts, Edinboro, Gannon, Millersville, and West Chester were four of just 16 Division II institutions to earn wish reveals, which are the powerful moments when children with critical illnesses find out how their wishes will be coming true.

Gannon's fundraising total of $13,483 was third-highest among all Division II institutions, trailing only Augustana (South Dakota) and Fairmont State, which raised $32,000 and $23,000, respectively. The Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference led all conferences with more than $53,000 raised by its membership.

Collectively, Division II raised more than $270,000 during 2025-26 as part of its ongoing partnership with Make-A-Wish, including $221,420 from Division II schools and conferences and $51,451 from championships and enforcement fine allocations. Since 2003, Division II institutions have donated more than $7 million and helped grant more than 700 wishes for children with critical illnesses.

“As NCAA Division II student-athletes, we emphasize the life-in-the-balance philosophy among college academics, athletics and community outreach,” said Rachel McCool, Ashland women's soccer student-athlete and current national chair of the Division II Student-Athlete Advisory Committee. “It is fundamental to give back and to serve the communities that continue to support college athletics. As an official Division II partner, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has been an integral part of the development of student-athletes. We see the amazing impact that this foundation has on the families it serves. This serves as a reminder for our student-athletes that there is more to life than the games we play, and it is part of our mission to help make a positive change in our communities. I am excited to continue this partnership with Make-A-Wish and help raise money to support their impactful and moving mission.”
