LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) has announced a joint venture with T.E.A.M. Consulting Associates (TCA) which became effective July 1, 2025.
TCA is a newly formed company headed by Robert Buckanavage, a former football player at Temple University and former administrator in the Pennsbury School District. Buckanavage was also Executive Director of the Pennsylvania State Athletic Director’s Association and chairman of the national executive director’s council, with 45 years of experience on local, state, and national levels.
PSAC Commissioner Steve Murray made the official announcement after the approval of the conference’s Board of Directors.
T.E.A.M. Consulting Associates is led by Buckanavage, with sports journalist Sam Matta also contributing to the initiative to bring exposure and pursue sponsorships for the PSAC.
“Through our research and consulting with sports and business officials, we felt there was an extraordinary opportunity identified in creating additional revenue streams to help support the student-athlete experience,” said Murray. “This coming season, the PSAC will celebrate 75 years of incredible success. Our goal is to secure corporate sponsorships with some of the finest and most professional businesses throughout Pennsylvania and beyond.”
Headquartered in Lock Haven, Pennsylvania, the PSAC is an NCAA Division II Conference comprised of 17 campuses in Pennsylvania and West Virginia. The members include Bloomsburg, California (PA), Clarion, East Stroudsburg University, Edinboro, Gannon University, Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Kutztown University, Lock Haven, Mansfield, Millersville University, The University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown, Seton Hill University, Shepherd University, Shippensburg University, Slippery Rock University, and West Chester University.
There are over 90,000 students enrolled in the PSAC’s 17 member intuitions, including 7,321 student-athletes and over 633,000 alumni. The conference has produced 363 NCAA champions, with 58 teams and 305 individuals earning the honor.
“Our emphasis is geared towards enhancing conference championships, securing conference-wide sponsorships, and the conference’s awards program,” said Buckanavage. “The PSAC’s history of consistently achieving one of the highest academic success rates and federal graduation rates in the country is outstanding. Our goal is to help guide the conference into the business side of sports, and it is uniquely positioned to offer a fantastic return on investments for sponsors.”
The conference has produced its own digital sports network since 2017, with no charge to viewers.
“The reach of the conference’s digital network is huge,” said Buckanavage. “It truly is worldwide, and T.E.A.M. Consulting Associates will emphasize this to all potential corporate sponsors. It is a mind-boggling opportunity for corporations to get their name, message, and products in front of a large audience.”
“Our Digital Network is produced by all of our individual member campuses, and our Board of Directors has committed to a free-to-watch model in lieu of moving to pay-per-view,” said Murray. “This enables alumni, family, and fans to watch all the great PSAC action from anywhere, at any time, on any device.”
The figures don’t lie: the PSAC Digital Network annually totals over one million viewers, 1900 games streamed, and 26 million minutes watched – creating a blockbuster audience for potential sponsors. The conference is also a Division II leader in social media, with a combined 60,000 followers spread across Instagram, X, and Facebook.
The PSAC also impresses with in-person attendance figures. Annually, over 2,000 conference events draw well over 500,000 spectators. Each year, PSAC Championships draw more than 30,000 fans in total.
“Our goal is to make the sporting events in the PSAC appointment viewing and aid any potential sponsors in reaching an even larger audience,” emphasized Buckanavage. “We want to help showcase the conference’s wonderfully talented student-athletes and the member institutions that are committed to providing them optimal and balanced experiences in competition, the classroom, the community, and, ultimately, in life.”
