LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its first set of Football Athletes of the Week for Week Zero of the 2025 season, combining the Eastern and Western Divisions for just single conference-wide awards for the first week of competition. Edinboro earned a pair of honorees, with Jaret Frantz named the Offensive Athlete of the Week and Ricco Sastoque the Special Teams Athlete of the Week. Clarion's Zay Brisbane rounds out the trio and was chosen as the Defensive Athlete of the Week.

Frantz led the Edinboro offense with six catches for 78 yards and three touchdowns as the Fighting Scots defeated host East Stroudsburg, 29-14. Of his six catches, three were touchdowns and two others moved the chains for the Edinboro offense. Frantz is the first Fighting Scot to record three receiving touchdowns in a game since TaNauz Gragory hauled in three scores against Clarion in 2019.

Brisbane was all over the field in Clarion's shutout win over Wheeling on Aug. 28, contributing to the Golden Eagles' first blanking of an opponent in 13 years and 130 games played. The senior defensive back made four tackles and contributed four pass break-ups on defense, with the latter number ranking as the most in a single game for a Golden Eagle since at least the 1992 season. In doing so, Brisbane did his part in helping Clarion to their first shutout win since Aug. 30, 2012, a victory over Fairmont State.

Sastoque punted three times for an average of 52 yards and pinned East Stroudsburg inside the 20 yard line on two separate occasions. His long of 62 yards was one of two punts over 50 yards, and he also added five kickoffs for 309 total yards and one touchback.
