PSAC Women's Soccer Athletes of the Week - 3

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its third set of Women's Soccer Athletes of the Week for the 2025 season. From the Eastern Division, Shepherd's Reagan Ackermann (Athlete of the Week) and Bloomsburg's Samantha Merklin (Defensive Athlete of the Week) earned the honors. In the West, the Gannon pair of Brooklyn Respecki (Athlete) and Morgan Sinan (Defensive) were selected.

Ackermann led the Rams to a critical win over No. 17 Kutztown in a PSAC Eastern Division battle, handing the Golden Bears their first loss of the 2025 campaign. Ackermann played 89 minutes of the 90 and scored the second goal of the game, in the 65th minute, to give Shepherd some breathing room. Ackermann added a goal and an assist in Shepherd's win over Mansfield as the Rams remain unbeaten this fall.

Merklin helped No. 22 Bloomsburg women's soccer remain unbeaten on the season, going 1-0-1 on the week. She totaled 17 saves with just one goal allowed for a .944 save percentage in PSAC contests against Shippensburg and West Chester. She guided Bloomsburg to its fourth shutout of the season, recording five saves against Shippensburg, and recorded a season-high 12 stops against a West Chester squad with votes in the United Soccer Coaches National Poll in a 1-1 draw. Merklin has led the Huskies defensively to their best six-game start to a season since 2010.

Respecki helped guide No. 9 Gannon to a 2–0 week, registering her second career hat trick in a 5–0 win over Roberts Wesleyan before adding another goal and an assist against PSAC West opponent Seton Hill. The junior forward totaled four goals and nine points on the week, converting half of her eight shots and placing seven on target (.875).

Sinan recorded four saves as No. 9 Gannon’s backline limited opponents to just five total shots during a 2–0 week. She split time in goal across both matches and finished with a perfect 1.000 save percentage while combining on two shutouts.
