LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its Football Athletes of the Week for Week 4 of the 2025 season. In the Western Division, California's D'Avay Johnson was as Offensive Athletes of the Week while Edinboro's Daunte White (Defensive Athlete of the Week) and another Cal Vulcan, Andrew Gonzalez (Special Teams Athlete of the Week) were also selected. In the Eastern Division, Kutztown's Judd Novak is the Offensive Athlete of the Week and is joined by Shippensburg's Alex Sauve (Defensive) and East Stroudsburg's Elijah Carroll (Special Teams.)

Johnson established season highs with six receptions for 134 yards with one touchdown on Saturday night, as the No. 8 Vulcans captured a 45-38 victory at No. 4 Slippery Rock. The win marked the second-highest opponent ever defeated by California and snapped a seven-game road losing streak in the series, plus ended a 29-game night home winning streak for Slippery Rock. Johnson scored a 23-yard touchdown in the opening minute of the second quarter to give the Vulcans a 28-14 lead. All six of his catches on Saturday resulted in first downs, including a 30-yard reception on the eventual game-winning drive late in the fourth quarter.

White had a breakout game in his first action of the 2025 season against Clarion. Hewas a menace in the Clarion backfield, recording nine tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss and 2.0 sacks. During the Scots' second half shutout of the Golden Eagles White tallied six tackles, with 3.5 of them for a loss and a key sack stalling out a Clarion drive deep in Edinboro territory.

Gonzalez averaged 42.7 yards on three punts with a long of 50 yards on Saturday night, as the No. 8 Vulcans earned a 45-38 victory at No. 4 Slippery Rock. He registered his long of 50 yards in the final minutes of the second quarter that forced The Rock to start at its 32-yard line with 2:22 left before halftime.

Novak threw for 203 yards and three touchdowns as No. 5 Kutztown opened PSAC East play with a convincing 49-10 victory at Shepherd last Saturday. Novak found Steven Burkhardt with a 9-yard TD pass at 4:48 of the first quarter to put the Golden Bears in front 7-0. He connected with Burkhardt again in the final minute of the first half for an 8-yard TD that made it 35-3. Late in the third, the redshirt junior tossed a 22-yard scoring strike to wide receiver Luke Szabo. He also added two carries for 23 yards. Novak has multiple passing touchdowns in three of Kutztown's four games this season and the Saturday's performance marked the fourth time in his career with three or more passing TDs in a game. The Manheim, Pa., native has eight TD passes against zero interceptions thus far in 2025 and is one TD pass shy of 50 in his career.

Sauve had eight tackles, including 1.0 TFLs, a half-sack, and an interception in SU's 10-7 win. He had SU's second interception, and then provided pressure on the quarterback on SU's third and final interception. The Raider defense allowed only one pass play of 15 or more yards and only one rush of 10 yards.

Carroll had a 95-yard kickoff return for a touchdown to open the game, immediately giving ESU a 7-0 lead just 14 seconds into the contest. This single play was the longest of the game for either team and accounted for more yardage than any other ESU player gained in total for the entire game. Carroll handled 3 of ESU's 4 kickoff returns, accumulating 141 yards. Across his three returns (95, 18, and 39 yards), he averaged an outstanding 47.0 yards per return.
