KUTZTOWN: Ranked No. 3 in the AFCA poll (No. 4 D2Football.com), the Golden Bears lead the PSAC in rushing defense (49.5 ypg) after a 28-18 win at Shepherd. RB Craig Miller, the PSAC East Offensive Athlete of the Week, is averaging 11.8 yards per carry (21 carries, 248 yards).

IUP: Moved to No. 9 in the AFCA poll (from No. 11) and No. 13 in D2Football.com (from No. 17) after a 35-7 win over Seton Hill. QB Mason Maggs leads the PSAC with 13 touchdown passes and the Crimson Hawks lead the league in scoring defense (19.5 ppg).

SLIPPERY ROCK: At No. 8 in the AFCA poll, the Rock lead Division II in scoring offense (53.8 ppg) and rank third in total offense (545.5 ypg). RB JayJay Jordan leads the PSAC with 459 rushing yards and 11 touchdowns.

CLARION: QB Jase Ferguson leads the PSAC with 1,027 passing yards and 10 touchdowns after a 30-19 win over Edinboro, the Golden Eagles' second straight victory. K/P Ty Woods has earned two PSAC West Special Teams Athlete of the Week honors.

BLOOMSBURG: The Huskies edged Shippensburg 33-31 for their third win in four games. Eli Zimmerman (Special Teams) and Ian Donohue (Defensive) earned PSAC East weekly honors, and LB Nahzier Booker leads the PSAC with 7.5 tackles for loss.

EAST STROUDSBURG: ESU leads the PSAC in rushing offense (257.8 ypg) and shut out Lackawanna 51-0 on Saturday. K Ty Quintois is 7-of-9 on field goals with a long of 55 yards.

WEST CHESTER: The Golden Rams edged Millersville 17-16 to improve to 3-1 and 1-0 in PSAC East play. The WCU pass defense is allowing 153.8 yards per game, second-best in the PSAC.

SHEPHERD: The Rams fell 28-18 at Kutztown after a 3-0 start and are receiving AFCA votes (13). QB Michael Hardyway has 10 touchdown passes against one interception.

LOCK HAVEN: In its first season in the PSAC West, Lock Haven is 1-0 in division play after a 24-14 win at Gannon. DL LucRichard Rameau has 5.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks, and the Bald Eagles' 10 sacks are second in the league.

CALIFORNIA: The Vulcans fell to Slippery Rock 41-26. WR Kenny Lewis IV has 28 catches for 368 yards and six touchdowns, tied for the PSAC lead in receiving TDs, and Cal's seven interceptions lead the league.

EDINBORO: The Fighting Scots lead the PSAC in fewest penalty yards per game (28.8), 19.0 fewer per game than any other conference team. WR Jeremiah Neeley has 21 catches for 361 yards and three touchdowns.

SETON HILL: Demetri Whitehead earned PSAC West Special Teams honors. LBs Lucas Simone (44) and Keith Bourque (40) are two of the PSAC's top three tacklers, and the Griffins' pass defense (107.3 ypg) is the league's stingiest.

GANNON: The Golden Knights (0-4) have dropped 10 straight since a 38-35 win at Slippery Rock last October. Donell Mason has four receiving TDs and Jaylen Nelson leads the PSAC in kickoff return average (32.8).

SHIPPENSBURG: WR Chris Adegunle leads the PSAC with 407 receiving yards. Two of the Raiders' three losses have come by two points (26-28 vs. IUP, 31-33 at Bloomsburg), and LB Alex Sauve has 37 tackles and 6.0 TFL.

MILLERSVILLE: The Marauders fell 17-16 at West Chester, their closest game of the season. LB Bryce Beutler is second in the PSAC with 41 tackles (10.3 per game).

KUTZTOWN HOLDS AT NO. 3

Kutztown (4-0) is No. 3 in the AFCA poll (707 points), unchanged from the previous poll, and No. 4 on D2Football.com. The Golden Bears were No. 3 in the final 2025 AFCA poll, the highest final ranking in program history.

ROCK AND HAWKS CLIMB

Slippery Rock moved up two spots to No. 8 in the AFCA poll (from No. 10) and two to No. 9 on D2Football.com (from No. 11). IUP rose two to No. 9 in the AFCA poll (from No. 11) and four to No. 13 on D2Football.com (from No. 17).

Millersville Game Notes
SEEKING A FIRST WIN

Millersville (0-4, 0-1 PSAC East) is still looking for its first victory under first-year head coach Drew Folmar. The Marauders were 0-11 in 2025, the program's first winless season since 1953, and have lost 15 consecutive games dating to last season. Their 2026 setbacks came against Glenville State (24-21), California (40-17), Slippery Rock (70-10) and West Chester (17-16).

TWO CLOSE CALLS

Millersville's first and most recent games were its closest. The Marauders lost 24-21 at Glenville State on Sept. 3 and 17-16 at West Chester last Saturday, a combined margin of four points. Millersville has been outscored 151-64 overall, including 110-27 in its two games against California and Slippery Rock.

ASHBY AND BEUTLER

Running back Mekhi Ashby has 65 carries for 240 yards (60.0 ypg) to lead the Marauders' ground game. Linebacker Bryce Beutler, a 2025 All-PSAC East selection who made 103 tackles last season, ranks second in the PSAC with 41 stops (10.3 per game).

DEFENSIVE NUMBERS

Millersville is allowing 37.8 points and 494.8 total yards per game, the highest marks in the PSAC in both categories. The Marauders have given up 310.3 passing yards per game, also the most in the league, while their offense averages 16.0 points per game.

Shepherd Game Notes
3-1 AFTER A TOUGH LESSON

Shepherd (3-1, 0-1 PSAC East) dropped a 28-18 decision at Kutztown last Saturday after opening the season with wins over Frostburg State (34-26), Gannon (45-28) and California (28-7). The Rams received 13 votes in the latest AFCA Top 25 poll and are averaging 31.3 points per game while allowing 22.3.

HARDYWAY'S EFFICIENCY

Quarterback Michael Hardyway has completed 72 of 113 passes (63.7 percent) for 793 yards with 10 touchdowns and one interception. He was named PSAC East Offensive Athlete of the Week after the Week 2 win over Gannon.

HARPER'S TOUCHDOWNS

Wide receiver Daryl Harper has 20 receptions for 291 yards and six touchdowns, tied with California's Kenny Lewis IV for the PSAC lead in receiving scores. Harper's 36 points are tied for third among PSAC scoring leaders. D'Myo Hunter earned PSAC East Special Teams honors in Week 1.

ALEXANDER'S LEG

All-American punter Daishaun Alexander is averaging 46.1 yards on 19 punts, second in the PSAC behind Seton Hill's Cody Rubrecht (48.3). Alexander finished second in NCAA Division II in punting in 2025 at 44.6 yards per attempt. The Rams are allowing just 116.5 rushing yards per game, third-best in the league.

THREE WINS IN FOUR

Bloomsburg (3-1, 1-0 PSAC East) has won two in a row, beating Gannon 33-27 in overtime on Sept. 19 and Shippensburg 33-31 last Saturday, a combined margin of eight points. The Huskies opened with a 35-13 win at Fairmont State and suffered their lone loss, 9-6, against Edinboro on Sept. 12.

ZIMMERMAN IN SPACE

Eli Zimmerman has 563 all-purpose yards (140.8 per game), third in the PSAC, and earned PSAC East Special Teams Athlete of the Week honors for his work on returns in Week 4. Zimmerman totaled 929 all-purpose yards and 598 kickoff return yards in 2025.

FRONT SEVEN DOMINANCE

Linebacker Nahzier Booker leads the PSAC with 7.5 tackles for loss and 4.5 sacks (tied with teammate Ian Donohue) and has 34 tackles. Donohue has 6.5 TFL and was PSAC East Defensive Athlete of the Week in Week 4. Bloomsburg leads the league with 11 team sacks and allows a PSAC-best 258.8 total yards per game.

CLANCY'S CARRIES

Running back Declan Clancy has 70 carries for 379 yards and four touchdowns (94.8 per game), third among PSAC rushers. Bloomsburg's rushing defense allows 65.3 yards per game, second in the league behind Kutztown (49.5).

Lackawanna Game Notes
A NEW CHAPTER

Lackawanna is in the process of becoming the PSAC's 18th member and is scheduled to face the entire PSAC Eastern Division in 2026. The Falcons (0-4), who play under first-year head coach Mark Ross at PENFED Field at Scranton Memorial Stadium, opened with a 20-12 loss at Monroe, then lost 20-10 to Seton Hill, 59-13 to Clarion and 51-0 at East Stroudsburg.

BY THE NUMBERS

Lackawanna averages 8.8 points and 231.3 total yards per game (92.8 rushing, 138.5 passing) and allows 37.5 points and 372.0 yards per game. The Falcons have three interceptions and have been sacked 14 times while recording four sacks.

FALCON LEADERS

Quarterback David Naniewicz has completed 56 passes for 554 yards and two touchdowns. Jalen Fletcher leads the ground game with 177 yards on 52 carries and two touchdowns, Khi'Lee Patterson has 14 receptions for 121 yards, and Brodie Daugherty leads the defense with 24 tackles and one sack.

Clarion Game Notes
WINNING TWO STRAIGHT

Clarion (3-1, 1-0 PSAC West) has won back-to-back games over Lackawanna (59-13) and Edinboro (30-19) after a 45-14 loss at Kutztown on Sept. 12. The Golden Eagles opened with a 52-14 win over West Virginia Wesleyan and rank third in the PSAC in scoring at 38.8 points per game.

FERGUSON PACES THE LEAGUE

Quarterback Jase Ferguson leads the PSAC in passing yards (1,027), completing 64 of 106 attempts (60.4 percent) with 10 touchdowns and four interceptions. He averages 256.8 yards per game and shared PSAC West Offensive Athlete of the Week honors in Week 4.

DEEP THREATS

Tsirell Curry has 15 receptions for 307 yards and two touchdowns (20.5 yards per catch), and Ja'Tawn Williams has 14 catches for 274 yards (19.6 per catch). Both rank in the PSAC's top 10 in receiving yards. Clarion's 434.5 total yards per game are second in the PSAC to Slippery Rock.

WOODS' LEG AND TURNOVERS

Kicker/punter Ty Woods has twice earned PSAC West Special Teams Athlete of the Week honors (Weeks 1 and 3). Clarion's six interceptions are second in the PSAC behind California's seven, and the Golden Eagles have allowed only four sacks.

FIRST YEAR IN THE WEST

Lock Haven (2-2, 1-0 PSAC West) is playing its first season in the PSAC West Division. The Bald Eagles beat Shippensburg 24-16 on Aug. 29, lost 21-14 at American International and 35-20 to Kutztown, then won 24-14 at Gannon last Saturday for their first division victory.

COMING OFF A BREAKTHROUGH

Lock Haven won six games in 2025 under first-year head coach Joe Battaglia, its first winning season since 1981. Battaglia is now in his second season; the Bald Eagles allow 21.5 points per game, fourth-best in the PSAC.

TUCKER-SCOTT'S CATCHES

Wide receiver Jayvon Tucker-Scott has 41 receptions for 375 yards (93.8 per game), second in the PSAC in receiving yards. Mekhi Watson adds 24 catches for 272 yards. Lock Haven's passing offense averages 223.3 yards per game.

PRESSURE UP FRONT

Defensive lineman LucRichard Rameau has 5.5 tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks, and Lock Haven's 10 team sacks are second in the PSAC to Bloomsburg's 11. Punter Kevin Carrigan is averaging 44.2 yards on 13 punts, fifth in the league.

Shippensburg (1-3, 0-1 PSAC East) has lost three games by a combined 12 points under first-year head coach Drew Gallardy: 24-16 to Lock Haven, 28-26 to IUP and 33-31 at Bloomsburg. The Raiders' win came 24-14 at West Virginia Wesleyan on Sept. 10.

SEEKING A FIRST WIN

Gannon (0-4, 0-1 PSAC West) has lost 10 straight games dating to a 38-35 win at Slippery Rock last October. The Golden Knights lost 32-20 at Davenport (now No. 11 in the AFCA poll), 45-28 at Shepherd, 33-27 in overtime to Bloomsburg and 24-14 to Lock Haven.

HURST AND MASON

Quarterback Ty Hurst has completed 48 of 71 passes (67.6 percent) for 658 yards, seven touchdowns and three interceptions in three games (219.3 per game). Wide receiver Donell Mason has 16 catches for 265 yards and four touchdowns, with a long of 75.

RETURN GAME

Jaylen Nelson leads the PSAC in kickoff return average at 32.8 yards (9 returns, 295 yards). Freshman Damario Moore had an 89-yard kickoff return touchdown in last year's win at Slippery Rock, the second-longest in program history.

GANNON'S DEFENSE

The Golden Knights allow 33.5 points and 449.8 yards per game, including 216.8 rushing yards per game. Head coach Erik Raeburn is in his 25th season overall and seventh at Gannon.

FIRST HOME GAME SINCE OPENER

Slippery Rock (4-0, 1-0 PSAC West), No. 8 in the AFCA poll and No. 9 on D2Football.com, returns home for only the second time this season after road wins at East Stroudsburg (59-35), Millersville (70-10) and California (41-26). The Rock opened with a 45-43 double-overtime win over Minnesota Duluth.

NATION'S TOP SCORING OFFENSE

Slippery Rock leads Division II in scoring offense (53.8 ppg) and is third in total offense (545.5 ypg), rushing for 255.0 yards and passing for 290.5 per game. The Rock have scored at least 41 points in every game.

JORDAN AND OWENS

JayJay Jordan leads the PSAC with 459 rushing yards (114.8 per game) and 11 touchdowns (66 points) and is second in all-purpose yards (625). DaOne Owens has completed 64 of 93 passes (68.8 percent) for 952 yards, nine touchdowns and two interceptions, the PSAC's top passer efficiency rating (182.4).

DEFENSIVE RECOGNITION

Brett Kwoka (Week 0) and Elijah Halley (co-winner, Week 2) earned PSAC West Defensive Athlete of the Week honors. The Rock have eight sacks and four interceptions but allow 28.5 points per game.

IUP leads the PSAC in scoring defense (19.5 ppg), Bloomsburg in total defense (258.8 ypg) and Seton Hill in pass defense (107.3 ypg). Bloomsburg's 11 sacks lead the league, followed by Lock Haven (10).
