PSAC Women's Soccer Athletes of the Week - 3

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its third set of Women's Soccer Athletes of the Week for the 2026 season. In the West, IUP's Kat Morgan was selected as Athlete of the Week while Pitt-Johnstown's Gianna Cardillo earned Defensive Athlete of the Week honors. From the East, the Kutztown pair of Carly Louey (Athlete of the Week) and Morgan O'Donnell (Defensive Athlete of the Week) were recognized.

Morgan had her first career brace against Clarion this weekend, scoring both of IUP's goals to earn a draw with the Golden Eagles. Overall, six of her eight shots on the season came this week, with two against Pitt-Johnstown in a 1-1 draw and the next four coming against Clarion. Five of her six shots were on goal.

Cardillo had a standout week against of the top competition in the Western Division, making her collegiate debut on September 9 against IUP and recording 12 saves on 17 shots and conceding just one goal in a 1-1 home draw. At Slippery Rock, she posted nine saves while facing 19 shots. Across her first two games, she has totaled 21 saves against 36 shots.

Freshman forward Carly Louey made her impact in back-to-back 4-0 PSAC East victories this past week. Louey finished with two goals and two assists, both finishing at the net and sharing the wealth. In a 4-0 shutout over East Stroudsburg at home last Wednesday, Louey finished with two goals and an assist, scoring the game's opening goal and then adding an assist on her team's second goal of the first half. She capped the scoring on the night with her second goal in the second half. In a 4-0 win at Mansfield Saturday, Louey assisted the game's first goal. Louey currently ranks inside the top-five in the PSAC in both goals (tied for 4th with four) and assists (tied for second with three).

Senior goalie Morgan O'Donnell started both games in goal last week and earned victories in back-to-back 4-0 shutouts in PSAC East play.In a 4-0 victory over East Stroudsburg this past Wednesday night, O'Donnell saved all three shots that she faced to record her first shutout of the season. In the 4-0 win at Mansfield on Saturday, O'Donnell continued her shutout streak and helped KU to its fourth straight win and a 3-0 start in conference competition.
