PSAC Women's Volleyball Athletes of the Week - 7

The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its Women's Volleyball Athletes of the Week. In the West, Clarion's London Fuller was selected as Athlete of the Week while IUP's Stefania Anagnostou was named Defensive Athlete of the Week. In the East, Shepherd's Renee Killough (Athlete) and East Stroudsburg's Makayla Baca (Defensive) earned the honors.

In the West, Clarion's London Fuller was selected as Athlete of the Week while IUP's Stefania Anagnostou was named Defensive Athlete of the Week. In the East, Shepherd's Renee Killough (Athlete) and East Stroudsburg's Makayla Baca (Defensive) earned the honors.

Fuller directed the Golden Eagles to another pair of match wins over the weekend, helping Clarion improve to 8-0 in PSAC West action with a sweep over California (Pa.) and a four-set win over Seton Hill. The senior setter averaged 11.86 assists per set over the weekend, spreading the ball evenly over a number of attackers to keep opponents off-balance. Cassidy Snider was the main beneficiary, hitting .385 with 5.43 kills per set, but Julia Piccolino and Charlie Allison also averaged more than 2.50 kills per set. Fuller also logged 17 digs for 2.43 digs per set and contributed three blocks.

Anagnostou posted 22 digs (3.14 d/s) with two assisted blocks and a .974 reception percentage in IUP's pair of victories last week over Seton Hill and Slippery Rock. She recorded nine digs, nine kills, three assists, and one block assist against Seton Hill on Oct. 13 and followed it up with a double-double of 11 kills and 13 digs in sweep of Slippery Rock (10/14/23), posting a perfect reception percentage in 35 TA.

Killough had 19 kills, 12 blocks, eight digs, and two aces in a 2-0 week for the Rams, with victories over Millersville (3-1) and West Chester (3-2). She had 12 kills and nine blocks (4 solo) in the win over West Chester. Killough also notched a .385 attack percentage, 16 digs, and three service aces on the week.

Baca helped the East Stroudsburg volleyball team sweep Lock Haven and Bloomsburg to keep the Warriors a perfect 7-0 in the PSAC East after averaging 6.17 digs, 0.67 assists and 0.50 aces per set to go along with a .958 receiving percentage. In a three-set victory over the Bald Eagles, Baca totaled 18 digs and an ace while eclipsing the 1,000 dig mark for her career between two seasons at both ESU and Montana State Billings. The senior returned with 19 digs, four assists and a pair of aces in a sweep over the Huskies. Baca currently ranks third in the PSAC in digs per set (5.00) and sixth in total digs (325).
