LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference had a great showing on Saturday at the 2024 NCAA Division II Cross Country Atlantic Region Championships.
In the men’s race, Shippensburg’s Garrett Quinan followed up on his PSAC Championship win with a runner-up finish to book his spot at the national meet. Joining him will be his Shippensburg teammates, who finished second overall in the team standings—with Aiden Gonder (sixth) and Tommy Crum (eighth) also finishing in the top 10. California’s Jonathan Thrush will also join them at nationals with his ninth-place finish guaranteeing him a spot as one of the top two runners not qualifying through a team qualification. In the men’s team standings, Slippery Rock (fifth), IUP (sixth), East Stroudsburg (seventh), California (eighth), and Kutztown (ninth) all joined Shippensburg in the top 10.
In the women’s race, Slippery Rock’s Anna Igims continued her dominant season, winning in 20:35.4, nearly seven seconds quicker than second place Morgan Janiuk from Millersville. Igims has not been beaten by a Division II runner this fall. With top five finishes, but Igims and Janiuk qualify for the national meet—as does Edinboro’s Kate Szep, who finished fifth. Joining them will be Slippery Rock and East Stroudsburg’s teams, who finished second and third in the team standings, respectively. Shippensburg (fifth), Kutztown (seventh), Millersville (eighth), Edinboro (ninth), and Bloomsburg (10
th) also finished in the top 10.

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The 2024 NCAA Division II Atlantic Region Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championship Meets will take place Saturday, Nov. 9 at the West Branch Cross Country Course in Lock Haven, Pa. The men’s 10K kicks things off at 10:30 a.m. and will be followed by the women’s 6K at 11:45 a.m.
PSAC teams will have high hopes of locking up an Automatic Qualifying spot into the NCAA Championship meet, which requires placing in the top three in the team standings. The top five individual finishers or top two not on a qualifying team also receive automatic bids.
On the women’s side, 2024 PSAC champion Slippery Rock is ranked No. 2 in the latest USTFCCCA regional rankings, followed by Shippensburg at No. 3, East Stroudsburg at No. 4, and Kutztown at No. 5 – all behind No. 1 Davis & Elkins.
For the men, reigning 2024 PSAC champ Shippensburg is ranked No. 2 in the region, with No. 4 East Stroudsburg and No. 5 IUP also honored.
In 2023, the Shippensburg men locked up an automatic qualifying spot with a third place finish, while the Slippery Rock women did the same by placing in second.
