LOCK HAVEN, Pa. --- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its Baseball Athletes of the Week. In the West, Clarion’s Scotty McManamon (Athlete of the Week) and IUP’s Mark Edeburn (Pitcher of the Week) were selected. In the East, Bloomsburg’s Josh Wilson (Athlete) and Mansfield’s Austin Lewis (Pitcher) earned the honors.

McManamon was the key figure in the Golden Eagle lineup during their three-game series against Lake Erie, going 6-of-11 (.545) at the plate with a home run and two RBIs from the leadoff spot. McManamon slashed .545/.545/.818 for an OPS of 1.363 for the weekend, and stole a base. He went 3-for-4 in the opening game of the series, smacked a home run in the second, and went 2-for-4 with an RBI in the Golden Eagles' win on Sunday.

Edeburn pitched his 13th career complete game with victory against WV State on March 2. Edeburn allowed just two hits and one earned run in IUP's first win of the 2024 season. He also posted five strikeouts and retired 16 straight batters to finish out the game. Edeburn did not allow a baserunner after the second inning.

Wilson went 7-for-9 at the plate in a pair of Bloomsburg baseball victories against Fairmont State this past weekend. Wilson went 3-for-5 with four RBIs and a home run in the Huskies 17-4 win in the series opener. He fell just a triple short of the cycle. The junior opened the scoring with a three-run home run in the top of the first. In the first leg of Saturday's doubleheader Wilson went a perfect 4-for-4 in the maroon and gold's 8-4 win to improve his season batting average to .619. Wilson is currently second in the nation in batting average, behind fellow teammate Wyatt Metzger.

Lewis had his best performance of the season and possibly of his career against a strong 4-2 Saint Thomas Aquinas College team. The junior posted 13 strikeouts in his victory across five innings of work. Lewis allowed only three hits across his appearance and did not allow a walk on the afternoon. Through his first three starts, the pitcher has collected 24 strikeouts through only 14 innings on the mound and has only allowed one walk and one extra base hit in his last 11 innings played.
