turned in a dominant complete-game victory, the first complete-game win for West Chester in the National Finals since 2012 to lead the West Chester University baseball team (48-11) to a 12-4 victory over Tampa (50-9) in a must-win game on Friday night in the National Championship Series at the USA Baseball National Training Complex. West Chester and Tampa will do battle once again tomorrow in a winner-take-all game three in Cary, with first pitch set for 3 p.m.

The West Chester University baseball team (47-11) erased another mid-game deficit with a three-run fifth and added another in the sixth that eventually forced extra innings but fell to two-time Defending National Champion Tampa (50-8) by a 7-4 final in 10 innings to drop the first game of the best-of-three National Championship Series against the Spartans at the USA Baseball National Training Complex outside of Cary, North Carolina on Thursday night. West Chester will look to extend the series to an if-necessary game against Tampa tomorrow night, with first pitch set for 6 p.m. Should West Chester even the series tomorrow, the third and final game of the set will be played on Saturday at 3 p.m.
DAY 6: NCAA DIVISION II BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP IN CARY, N.C.
West Chester remained unbeaten in Cary, N.C. with a comeback win over UT Tyler on Wednesday afternoon, 6-5, to advance to the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship Series, now just two wins away from a national championship. WCU trailed, 5-2, but scrapped back four runs in the top of the eighth inning to take the lead. WCU utilized six pitchers and surrendered 13 hits but only the five runs -- while offensively, the Golden Rams totaled five hits but drew eight walks and multiple hit-by-pitches.
DAY 3: NCAA DIVISION II BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP IN CARY, N.C.
West Chester continued it torrid offensive output in the postseason and picked up another win, 8-2, over UT Tyler to advance in the Winner's Bracket. The Golden Rams totaled 16 hits, including three apiece from Austin Stalker and Harry Middlebrooks, and took control of the game right from the jump -- scoring five runs in the top of the first inning. WCU will play the winner of the elimination bracket final between UT Tyler and Central Missouri on Wednesday, June 3 at 1:30 p.m.
DAY 1: NCAA DIVISION II BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP IN CARY, N.C.
West Chester picked up right where they left off in the Atlantic Super Regional... winning comfortably in its opening game, 12-3, over UIndy. WCU has scored 79 runs in the last six games and will next play on Sunday at 6:00 PM against UT Tyler. Golden Rams' ace Julian Costa tossed seven innings with seven strikeouts and just two earned runs, while at the plate, Caleb Strawhecker (3-for-5, two RBIs), Carter Rust (2-for-6, two RBIs, three runs scored), and Hunter Smith (3-for-4, two RBIs) led the way offensively.
DAY 2: ATLANTIC SUPER REGIONAL
West Chester defeats Millersville, 9-2
West Chester completed the sweep of Millersville in the Atlantic Super Regional with a 9-2 win on Friday afternoon, improving its season record to 44-10 and advancing the team to Cary, NC and the NCAA Division II Baseball Championship Finals. WCU broke open the game in the top of the ninth inning, leading 3-2, and put up six runs in the frame -- including a three-run blast from Hunter Smith to put the game out of reach. In West Chester's last five games, the team has scored 67 runs.
DAY 1: ATLANTIC SUPER REGIONAL
West Chester defeats Millersville, 7-2
West Chester opened the Atlantic Super Regional with a 7-2 victory over Millersville, thanks in large part to a four-run bottom of the first inning. Austin Stalker blasted a three-run homer to right field to help create the cushion, and five other Golden Rams tallied two hits in the game. WCU ace Julian Costa tossed 7.0 of two-hit baseball, allowing just one earned run and striking out five.
DAY 3: ATLANTIC REGIONAL PODS
Millersville defeats Seton Hill, 8-3
Millersville advanced to next week's Atlantic Super Regional after the 8-3 win over Seton Hill on Saturday. Seton Hill took a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning but the Marauders erupted for six runs in the bottom of the second to take the lead for good.
West Chester defeats East Stroudsburg, 14-7
West Chester's offense continued to roll on Saturday, as the Golden Rams advanced to next week's Super Regional with the 14-7 win over East Stroudsburg. Christian Michak and Carter Rust were both 3-for-5 with 3 RBIs for WCU, as the team advances to play Millersville next weekend.
DAY 2: ATLANTIC REGIONAL PODS
Millersville defeats Seton Hill, 8-4
Millersville came from behind to win game one of the best-of-three series with Seton Hill. Trailing 3-1 in the sixth inning, the Marauders scrapped together two runs to tie it and then Sammy Laux broke the game open with a three-run homer in the bottom of the seventh to give MU the lead for good. Laux was 3-for-5 on the day with two runs scored. Seton Hill tallied 14 hits on the day, including three from Owen Mandler and Colin Ahr, but will have to try to win a pair of games from Millersville on Saturday to advance to the Super Regional.
West Chester defeats East Stroudsburg, 22-7
West Chester's offense has now scored a combined 37 runs in two games at the 2026 NCAA DII Atlantic Regional, besting East Stroudsburg, 22-7, on Friday afternoon. Caleb Strawhecker (3-for-5, five RBIs) and Carter Rust (3-for-5, three RBIs) led the way offensively, but each offensive start tallied at least one hit. East Stroudsburg scored four runs in the top of the first inning, but WCU answered back with five in the bottom half of the frame and added six in the third inning to start to put the game out of reach. East Stroudsburg is now in survival mode and must defeat West Chester two times on Saturday to advance to next week's Super Regional.
DAY 1: ATLANTIC REGIONAL PODS
East Stroudsburg defeats Bloomsburg, 14-5
The East Stroudsburg Warriors kicked off the Atlantic Regional pod at West Chester with a 14-5 win over Bloomsburg. A trio of ESU players notched three hits in the game -- Easton Albert, Cole Serfass, and Parkey Frey (who added a team-high four RBIs and a triple.)
Seton Hill defeats Charleston, 5-2
Seton Hill spotted Charleston two runs in the top of the first inning but bounced back to win, 5-2. Starting pitcher Sean Williams went six innings (five of them scoreless) and struck out four while the Griffins scrapped together some runs -- Owen Mandler had a game-high two RBIs with no hits and a walk, while Brady McGuire was 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
Millersville defeats Charleston, 8-4
Millersville eliminated Charleston from the regional with an 8-4 win. Donis Rodriguez, Matthew Williams, Christo Hunsicker, and Christian Cerone each tallied two hits in the contest, while starter Eli Simonton went 6.2 innings and gave up just five hits and two earned runs. The Marauders and Seton Hill will now face off in a best-of-three series to determine who advances to the Super Regional.
West Chester defeats Bloomsburg, 15-4
West Chester ended Bloomsburg's season with a 15-4 victory. Bloomsburg took a quick 2-0 lead in the top of the first inning, but an 11-run bottom of the fourth inning from West Chester proved to be the difference. WCU's Caleb Strawhecker and Austin Stalker led the way with three hits and three RBIs each. West Chester and East Stroudsburg will now play a best-of-three series to determine who advances to the Super Regional.
INDIANAPOLIS - Five Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference baseball teams were selected on late Sunday evening to continue their seasons in this week's upcoming NCAA Division II Baseball Championship Atlantic Regional, divided into two pods of three teams each.
The first pod will be hosted by top seed West Chester. Also traveling to that pod will be No. 4 seed East Stroudsburg and No. 5 seed Bloomsburg.
The other three-team pod, hosted by No. 2 seed Millersville (which claimed its second consecutive PSAC title last Saturday afternoon), features No. 3 seed Seton Hill and No. 6 seed and MEC champion Charleston.
All brackets are double elimination. The winners of each pod will match up in a Super Regional to determine which team heads to Cary, N.C. to compete for the national championship.
