LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced the 2023-24 PSAC Men’s Golf All-Conference Teams and Major Award winners on Wednesday afternoon. Millersville’s Timothy Peters earned both the Athlete of the Year and Freshman of the Year awards, while IUP head coach Dan Braun was voted Coach of the Year for the second consecutive season.
The PSAC All-Conference Teams and Major Award winners are selected by a vote of the conference’s head coaches.
Millersville freshman Timothy Peters was named both Athlete of the Year and Freshman of the Year after a breakout first season. He competed in 27 rounds of golf with a scoring average of 73.4 and won four tournaments, including the PSAC Men’s Golf Championship last fall, where the Marauders also earned the team championship. He also collected five Top 3’s and nine Top 10’s in addition to finishing sixth at the NCAA Atlantic/East Regional. He is the fourth golfer ever to win both the PSAC Athlete and Freshman awards in the same season and the first to do so since IUP’s Shaun Fedor in 2019-20.
IUP head coach Dan Braun earns his second consecutive and third career PSAC Men’s Golf Coach of the Year honor of his tenure and helped his team finish fourth at the NCAA Division II Atlantic/East Regional and second at the 2023 PSAC Men’s Golf Championship. Braun also guided the team at the 2024 NCAA Division II Men’s Golf Championship as the Crimson Hawks were the PSAC’s highest-placing team on the leaderboard in 18
th place.
