LOCK HAVEN, Pa. --- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its Baseball Athletes of the Week. In the West, Pitt-Johnstown’s Justin Turcovski (Athlete) and IUP’s Mark Edeburn (Pitcher) were selected. In the East, Bloomsburg’s Eli Riley (Athlete) and West Chester’s Drew Simpson (Pitcher) earned the honor.

Turcovski hit .353 (6-for-17) with two home runs, a triple, and 12 RBIs last week. He went a career-best 4-for-5 with 2 home runs, seven RBI, and four runs in 24-13 non-conference win at Bloomsburg on Tuesday, then went 2-for-3 with a triple and 3 RBIs in Pitt-Johnstown's 5-3 win to open a PSAC four-game series against California on Friday at Johnstown's Point Stadium. He also scored four runs, was hit by two pitches, and stole a base.

Edeburn became IUP's all-time leader in career innings pitched (235.1) and tossed a one-hitter against Mercyhurst, allowing just one earned run, two walks, and striking out four. He faced just three batters over the minimum, as IUP clinched the No. 2 seed in this week's upcoming PSAC Tournament, finishing with a 19-9 conference record -- just one game ahead of Mercyhurst, the No. 3 seed, at 18-10.

Riley notched three home runs and eight RBIs with a .526 batting average as the Huskies went 3-2 on the week. In Bloomsburg's high-scoring contest with Pitt-Johnstown Riley went 3-for-5 from the dish with three runs, and a three-run home run against the Mountain Cats. During the maroon and gold's final home series against Mansfield, the leftfielder went 3-for-6 on the day with two runs and two RBIs. Riley followed it up the next day by going deep in back-to-back games. He went 4-for-8 with three RBIs and two runs and finished the week with 10 hits, seven runs, eight RBIs and three home runs.

Simpson pitched five scoreless innings in relief in game one of a four-game series against No. 7 Millersville. He picked up the win, scattering four hits while walking two and striking out six. His scoreless outing helped West Chester erase a 5-1 deficit and come back to win in extra innings. As a freshman, he came on in a tough situation and shutdown the third-best offense in the conference to give his team a chance to win.
