Melnyk delivered a dominant three-day performance at the Malone Invitational, accounting for three program records, four individual victories, and multiple relay wins while helping Gannon capture both the women’s team title and the combined team sweep. Melnyk broke the school record in the 50 freestyle on Thursday, winning the event in 23.42, surpassing a mark set in 2021-22. She followed it with another historic swim on Friday, posting 55.85 in the 100 backstroke to shatter a program record that had stood since 2017-18. On Saturday, she lowered her own 100 freestyle school record after clocking 50.70, nearly a full second ahead of the field. Across the Invitational she contributed wins in the 50 free, 100 free, 100 back, and multiple relays, including the 200 medley and 400 medley squads that each secured first-place finishes. Melnyk now owns school records in the 50 free, 100 free, and 100 backstroke and was one of the meet’s most consistent point scorers. Her performance helped the Golden Knights total 3,481 combined points and win the women’s title by 62 points.
