QUICK HITS FOR PSAC TEAMS, WEEK 10:
IUP: Matthew Rueve engraved his name into program history with his 37 completions against Gannon last Saturday, the previous record was held by Chase Haslett who recorded 34 completions against California (PA) in 2014.
CLARION: Freshman quarterback Jase Ferguson orchestrated a pair of methodical drives that each spanned nine plays and more than 70 yards against Slippery Rock last Saturday.
SLIPPERY ROCK: No. 20 Slippery Rock visits Edinboro to close out the PSAC West divisional schedule with a noon game that carries both PSAC West title and NCAA postseason implications.
EDINBORO: The Scot defense forced five Seton Hill fumbles and recovered four of them. Edinboro also made nine tackles for loss including three sacks.
CALIFORNIA: Sophomore Deontae Williams returned a kickoff for a touchdown in consecutive weeks, becoming the first player in over two decades with multiple kickoff returns for a touchdown in a season. His performance earned him PSAC West Special Teams Athlete of the Week.
GANNON: Redshirt sophomore defensive back David Fairer also had a big game, matching his career high with seven tackles, including a sack, with an interception and a forced fumble against IUP last Saturday.
SHEPHERD: Redshirt junior running back Jordan Barnett rushed 15 times for 162 yards and a pair of touchdowns to lead Shepherd to a 48-7 win over Shippensburg in PSAC East football action at Ram Stadium on Saturday.
LOCK HAVEN: With the victory over Millersville, the Haven improved to 5-4 overall and 3-2 in the PSAC East after winning its third straight game, while also securing its third straight five-win season. Lock Haven’s last three game winning streak came back in 1981.
WEST CHESTER: In the third and final overtime against Bloomsburg, Jordan gave West Chester the lead with a successful conversion pass to Iuvara for their aforementioned second connection of the day to give West Chester a 46-44 lead.
SHIPPENSBURG: SU is ranked fifth in the PSAC in kickoff returns, averaging 22.0 yards per return.
KUTZTOWN: The Golden Bears are looking to improve to 10-0 for the second straight season and third time in program history.
BLOOMSBURG: BU quarterback KJ Riley finished the game agaisnt West Chester 19-of-36 for 254 yards and four touchdowns, going over 2,000 yards passing for the second consecutive season and now has 6,327 career passing yards and 51 career touchdown passes, which is fifth all-time at Bloomsburg.
MILLERSVILLE: Running back Mekhi Ashby rushed for a team-high 83 yards while quarterback Tommy Hunsicker added 69 rushing yards and completed 12 of 24 passes against Lock Haven last Saturday.
EAST STROUDSBURG: ESU’s offense and defense remain among the league leaders. Its 30.4 points per game is sixth-best in the PSAC, while its 23.9 points allowed per game is ranked fourth in the conference.
