PSAC Baseball Athletes of the Week - 1

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. --- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its first set of Baseball Athletes of the Week, encompassing every game played so far in the 2025 season. In the East, Millersville''s Jeff Sabater (Athlete of the Week) and Shippensburg's J.T. Weaver (Pitcher of the Week) were selected. In the West, the Lock Haven duo of Nathan Wise (Athlete) and Matt Lingenfelter (Pitcher) earned the honors.

Sabater hit .462 with a .563 OBP, totaling six hits, five rounds, four RBIs, four steals and three walks in Millersville's season-opening series at Wingate. Sabater reached base at least twice, scored and drove in at least one run and stole at least one base in all three games. He game two, he went 3 for 4 with three runs and an RBI, and he drove in two runs and scored the game-winning run in the 11th inning of game three.

Weaver shut down then No. 3-ranked Catawba in a 14-8 Raider victory Feb. 8. The junior right-hander scattered five hits over five innings against the Indians and allowed just one earned run. He retired 10-of-11 batters from the second to the fifth, which allowed the Raiders to jump out to a 8-1 lead. He finished with two strikeouts.

Wise, a sophomore, has been on fire to begin the 2025 season. Against the Virginia State Trojans to open the season, Wise went 7-for-15 (.467 average) with two homeruns and a double. Wise also drove in six runs, scored three, and walked once.

Lingenfelter went five shutout innings against Virgina State, getting the quality start and the victory. The righty struck out four Trojans while only allowing two base hits.
