LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference released the 2025 PSAC Baseball All-Conference teams and Major Award winners on Tuesday afternoon.
The All-Conference teams and Major Award winners are determined by a vote of the league's head coaches after two rounds of voting. An extra infielder is elevated to the First Team for both the Western and Eastern Divisions.
The Eastern Division Major Awards went to Mansfield’s Jacob Houtz as Athlete of the Year, Shippensburg’s Jaxon Dalena as Pitcher of the Year, West Chester’s Caleb Strawhecker as Freshman of the Year, and Millersville head coach Jon Shehan as Coach of the Year.
In the Western Division, Major Award winners included California’s Payton Conte as Athlete of the Year for the second straight season, the Seton Hill duo of Ian Korn as Pitcher of the Year and Brady McGuire as Freshman of the Year, and California head coach Mike Conte as Coach of the Year.
EASTERN DIVISION
Mansfield’s Jacob Houtz earns Athlete of the Year honors in the Eastern Division after hitting .444 in 135 at-bats with 48 runs scored, 60 hits, 16 doubles, 14 home runs, 49 RBIs, and 118 total bases. His average, on-base percentage (.559), slugging percentage of .874, and OPS of 1.433 were all conference-bests.
Shippensburg ace Jaxon Dalena earns the Pitcher of the Year award after an impressive season that saw him lead the conference in innings pitched with 77.0 and strikeouts with 94. His 8 wins were tied for best in the Eastern Division, as was his opposing batting average (.210).
The East’s Freshman of the Year award went to West Chester’s Caleb Strawhecker, who played 40 games (starting 35) and went 33-of-102 to hit .324 for the year. He added 29 runs scored, eight doubles, a triple, five home runs, and 30 RBIs to his totals in his debut season.
Millersville head coach Jon Shehan earns his seventh career Coach of the Year honor after leading the Marauders to the Eastern Division’s top seed with a conference record of 24-4. Millersville led the East in batting average at .322 and scored the most runs in the entire conference with 388.
WESTERN DIVISION
The Western Division’s Athlete of the Year honors go to California’s Payton Conte for the second consecutive season. He hit .372 with 42 runs scored, 11 doubles, six home runs, and 44 RBIs. He was also 6-of-8 on stolen base attempts.
Seton Hill’s Ian Korn is the West’s Pitcher of the Year after leading the conference in ERA (1.42) and batting average against (.187) while tied for most wins (10) and least hits allowed (42).
Another Seton Hill Griffin, Brady McGuire, was named Freshman of the Year after finishing the spring 51-of-145 (.352) with 34 runs scored, a team-high 15 doubles, three home runs, 24 RBIs, and 23 stolen bases in 28 attempts.
California head coach Mike Conte was named Coach of the Year for the ninth time in his career. The Vulcans finished out of the PSAC postseason in 2024 but improved greatly, claiming the West’s second seed with a 19-8 conference and 34-11 overall record. Cal also led the conference in batting average at a .328 clip. It is also the first time since 2011 that a parent and child have been selected as PSAC Athlete and Coach of the Year for the same sport in the same season -- with Shippensburg's Neely and Steve Spence pulling the feat off for four consecutive years in women's cross country, from 2008-2011.
