LOCK HAVEN, Pa. —- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference’s Shippensburg University was selected as the favorite in the 2024 Men’s Cross Country Preseason Poll,
as voted on by the conference’s head coaches. This is the third consecutive season that the Raiders have earned the No. 1 spot and were selected unanimously, receiving 14 first-place votes.
Shippensburg finished first overall at the 2024 PSAC Cross Country Championship, with five runners in the top 10. Three of those finishers return, including individual champion Garrett Quinan, along with Tommy Crum (fourth place in 2024), and Ryan Wolfe (ninth place.) The Raiders return 10 overall runners and should be competitive once again for a conference and regional titles.
East Stroudsburg was selected second in the poll, receiving a single first-place vote, and returns the entire team from 2024. They had five runners finish in the top 25 at last year’s PSAC Championship, including Landon Boyle (12
th), Bryce Keenoy (14
th), Brian McGarrity (17
th), Ethan Holcomb (18
th), and Andrew Tatesure (23
rd).
Slippery Rock was voted No. 3 in this year’s poll. With mostly freshman and sophomores competing in 2024, they gained plenty of experience that should come in handy this season. Top returners include John Juszysnki (23
rd in 2024 race) and Mike Noval (who finished 29
th at the 2023 PSAC Championship.)
Kutztown was voted the No. 4 team and returns top 20 PSAC meet finishers Adam Brocato (13
th in 2024) and Jack Hollar (17
th).
The top four are followed by No. 5 Lock Haven and No. 6 IUP—with No. 7 Gannon, No. 8 California, No. 9 West Chester, and No. 10 Edinboro rounding out the top 10 teams.
