PSAC Men's Soccer Athlete of the Week - 1

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its first set of Men's Soccer Athletes of the Week for Week 1 of the 2025 season. From the East, Shippensburg's Kyle Ganley, and East Stroudsburg's Kevin Kretschman were selected. In the West, California's Ben Sauerländer, and Lock Haven's Ethan Beck, received the honor.

Sauerländer tallied a goal and an assist while making his program debut, as California registered a 3-0 season-opening win at Wheeling on Thursday night. He scored a goal in the 57th minute to extend the lead to 2-0 before adding an assist in the 74th minute. Sauerländer played the previous three season at Eastern New Mexico and totaled 17 points over 44 career games with the Greyhounds.

Lock Haven goalkeeper Ethan Beck did not allow a score in both contests last week, leading The Haven to a victory over Chestnut Hill and a tie against PSAC reigning champion Bloomsburg. Beck finished with four saves and a pair of shutouts.

Ganley scored a second half hat trick to help the Raiders pull away from Chestnut Hill in their season opener Saturday at home, 6-1. The sophomore tallied three-straight goals in an eleven-minute span beginning in the 70th minute to extend the Raider advantage from 3-1 to 6-1. Ganley showed off tremendous finishing ability, roofing a one-time shot for the first goal, then placing the ball in the bottom of the left corner from the edge of the box for the third. Ganley entered play Saturday with one career goal in 11 games.
