Eastern Division Defensive Athlete of the Week
Kelly Cleaver
Millersville

New Castle, Pa. / Union Area
In a 2-0 week for the Marauders, courtesy of two strong defensive performances, Kelly Cleaver was the anchor for two consecutive games with three blocks and a steal against Kutztown, and four blocks and a steal against Bloomsburg. Millersville held both Bloomsburg and Kutztown to under 60 points in their matchups together, which opened the door for the Marauders to put themselves right back in contention for the top seed in the Eastern Conference. Cleaver also added six points and four rebounds, three of which came on the defensive end, against Kutztown, and then three points and four rebounds, again three of which happened on the defensive end, against Bloomsburg.
Western Division Athlete of the Week
Zoé Bayer
Clarion
Guard
Junior
Les Sables d'Olonne, Vendée, France / Winston Salem Christian School (N.C.)
Bayer came off the bench and provided the spark the Golden Eagles needed as they upset previously undefeated seventh-ranked IUP at home on Saturday afternoon. The junior guard scored all 16 of her points in the fourth quarter against the Crimson Hawks, including a stretch where she accounted for six straight points. That run saw Bayer score the go-ahead basket with 40 seconds to play, making it 74-73; IUP never again held the lead as Clarion snapped a 15-game losing streak to the Crimson Hawks that dated back to the 2016-17 season.
Western Division Defensive Athlete of the Week
Rachael Manfredo
