PSAC Women's Basketball Athletes of the Week - 7

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. --- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference has announced the women’s basketball athletes of the week. In the East, Shepherd's Lamaria Estridge and Kutztown's Olivia Smelas were selected. In the West, IUP's Ellie Wilkerson and Seton Hill's Mia Kalich earned the honor.

Estridge averaged 22.5 points and 6.0 rebounds for the Rams for the week. She scored 21 points against Clarion on Friday and added 24 against UPJ on Saturday. Estridge connected on 20-of-37 field goals (.540). She added three steals, two assists, and a pair of blocked shots.

In two road PSAC contests over the weekend, senior forward Olivia Smelas averaged 9.5 points per game, 10 rebounds per game, four assists per game, 2.5 steals per game and one block per game. In a game against Seton Hill, Smelas tallied 10 points, seven rebounds, two steals and one block in just 14 minutes of action. In a victory over California, Smelas stuffed the stat sheet and finished just shy of a triple-double, ending with nine points, 13 rebounds, a career-high seven assists, three steals and two blocks. Smelas ranks in the top-10 in the PSAC in blocks per game (1.4, 5th), rebounds per game (8.7, 6th) and steals per game (2.5, T-7th).

Wilkerson started two games this week, with the No. 9 Crimson Hawks dominating both, staying undefeated at 12-0 on the season. Wilkerson had a season-high 23 points and five three-pointers with a season-high nine field goals made against Millerville. She also had 13 points against West Chester, averaging 18 points per game and playing 26.5 minutes. She went 7-for-9 from behind the arc, including a perfect five-for-five against the Marauders. She also had three steals and two blocks.

Kalich helped the Griffins to a 2-0 week and 6-0 record in PSAC crossover action.  Mia averaged a double double of 13 points and 11.5 rebounds per contest.  Kalich posted her 7th double double of the season with 16 points and 14 rebounds in the win over West Chester.
