LOCK HAVEN, Pa. --- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its ninth set of Baseball Athletes of the Week. In the East, Shippensburg's Ty Sherman was named Athlete of the Week while Shepherd's Gavin Miller (Pitcher of the Week) was also selected. In the West, California's Connor Evans (Athlete) and Seton Hill's Sean Williams (Pitcher) earned the honors.

Sherman went 9-for-16 (.563) with eight RBIs, eight runs scored, and 16 total bases as the Raiders took three of four from No. 18 West Chester this weekend. He scored a least one run in all four games of the series. In Game 1 Friday, Sherman went 4-for-5 with a pair of three-run home runs to help the Raiders score a 17-4 victory. The 17 runs were Shippensburg's most in a game against West Chester since the 1998 season. Sherman had a multi-hit game in both halves of Saturday's doubleheader. He played a major role in SU's game-winning rally during its 7-6 victory in Game 2. With SU trailing 6-5, AJ Wenrich started the sixth-inning comeback with a double. Sherman then singled and stole second base to put the tying and go ahead run into scoring position. He later scored on a Brady Harbach sacrifice fly representing the go ahead run.

Miller tossed a complete game two-hitter in a 7-0 win over Kutztown. He fanned three and walked three, holding opponents to a .091 batting average.
Western Division Athlete of the Week

Evans posted a .545 average, recorded a 1.265 OPS, and scored nine runs over five games last week, as the Vulcans earned a four-game sweep over Clarion in PSAC West play. He collected at least two hits in all five games while starting every game in right field. On Thursday, Evans tallied a pair of singles and split time in right field and center field while playing at PNC Park in Pittsburgh against Point Park. The Hickory product then went a combined 4-for-7 with three runs scored and two hit by pitches on Friday in a home doubleheader sweep over the Golden Eagles. In Game 2, Evans delivered the walk-off RBI single in the ninth inning after he scored the game-tying run in the seventh. On Saturday, he posted six hits, four RBI, six runs scored, and one steal in a road sweep over Clarion.
