LOCK HAVEN, Pa. --- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its 11th set of Baseball Athletes of the Week. In the East, West Chester's Patrick Gozdan was named Athlete of the Week while Shippensburg's Brenden Anderson (Pitcher of the Week) was also selected. In the West, IUP's Ricardo Aponte (Athlete) and Seton Hill's Mark Wechtenhiser (Pitcher) earned the honors.
Eastern Division Athlete of the Week
Patrick Gozdan
West Chester
Second Base

Warminster, Pa. / Archbishop Wood
Gozdan turned in a sensational week at the plate for West Chester last week as he went 10-for-14 (.714) over the course of five games with three extra-base hits (two doubles, one home run), while driving in seven runs and scoring four more. Gozdan also worked a pair of walks and was hit by two pitches and went a perfect 3-for-3 on stolen bases. The sophomore started his week with a 1-for-2 effort against Jefferson in the Bill Giles Invitational Championship game at Citizens Bank Park on Tuesday before going 9-for-12 with seven RBI at the plate in the four-game series against Bloomsburg.
Eastern Division Pitcher of the Week
Brenden Anderson
Shippensburg
Starting Pitcher
Senior
Georgetown, Del. / Sussex Central
Anderson capped a memorable Senior Day by tossing a no-hitter in SU's 3-1 victory over Mansfield in Game 2 Friday. The senior right-hander left it all out on the mound in what was just his seventh career start, recording his first complete game on an efficient 87 pitches and totaling four punchouts. The right-hander's previous career-high in innings pitched was five, a feat he achieved three times in his career (twice this season). Anderson retired the Mansfield lineup in order four times. The only blemishes on his pitching line were a walk and a pair of hit batters. The outing was SU's first no-hitter since Gabe Mosser on March 17, 2018 (a 4-0 win over Pitt-Johnstown). Anderson also authored 1.1 innings of scoreless relief work in a mid-week matchup at Pitt-Johnstown.

Aponte batted .500 last week, going 9-for-18 with three extra base hits. He had five RBIs, driving in a run in each of five games. He also scored four runs for IUP, which went 4-1, including winning three of four against California in a crucial PSAC West series.
