PSAC Women's Volleyball Athletes of the Week - 1

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its Women's Volleyball Athletes of the Week honorees. In the West, Seton Hill's Catie Flohr was selected as Athlete of the Week while Clarion's Cara Vandeborne was named Defensive Athlete of the Week. In the East, Shepherd's Mikayla Riehl (Athlete) and Shippensburg's Shay Kolivoski (Defensive) earned the honors.
 


Western Division Athlete of the Week

Flohr led the Griffins to a 3-0 week at the Lake Erie Storm Classic.  Catie finished the weekend with 55 kills in three matches while hitting .404.  She added 23 digs, six blocks, and two aces.  She posted a double double of 21 kills and 12 digs vs Lake Erie.  Catie had 25 kills in the three set win over Slippery Rock.  She was named to the All-Classic Team.  


Western Division Defensive Athlete of the Week

Vandeborne had an exciting debut in the Blue & Gold, leading a potent net defense for the Golden Eagles in a 4-0 weekend at the Tony Banner Memorial Tournament. The freshman middle averaged 1.47 blocks per set in four matches, the best average in the PSAC over the season's opening weekend. The high water mark came in the Golden Eagles' five-set win over Daemen on Saturday, when Vandeborne logged nine total blocks.

Riehl led the Rams to a 4-0 mark over the weekend, with wins over Shaw, Goldey-Beacom, Chestnut Hill, and Frostburg St. She recorded 44 kills, 38 digs, and two block assists. She had a .409 attack percentage.


Eastern Division Defensive Athlete of the Week

Kolivoski was named the “Libero of the Tournament” at the 2026 Tony Banner Memorial Classic hosted by Clarion after totaling 68 digs, passing to the tune of 26 assists and serving six aces. SU went 3-1. Her average of 4.86 digs per set ranks fourth in the PSAC through the opening weekend. She posted double-digit digs in all four matches, including a season-high 22 digs in a sweep of Franklin Pierce (seven digs per set) that marked the 31st time in her career that she exceeded 20 digs in a match. Kolivoski's passing was especially noteworthy in the the team's four-set victory over West Virginia Wesleyan as she posted 19 digs and 10 assists. It was her 83rd career match and yet just the second time that she recorded a "double-double" with double-digit digs and assists from the libero position (she had a 23-dig, 11-assist effort against American International last season).
