BLOOMSBURG, Pa. --- The 2021 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Individual Tennis Championships are set to begin Saturday, October 2 and conclude Monday, October 4 from the Burt Reese Tennis Center in Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania.

Matches will begin Saturday at 10 a.m. with Women’s and Men’s Doubles. Women’s Singles will start at 11:30 a.m. while the Men’s Singles will begin at 1:30 p.m.

The PSAC did not host an Individual Championship in 2020, and this year, we will aim to crown new champions in both Men’s and Women’s Singles along with Men’s and Women’s Doubles.

The competition will be fierce in both genders for sure. On the men’s side 2020-21 All-PSAC honoree Carlos Martinez is the top Singles seed, while Edinboro’s Bruno Sablo is the second seed. Joining Sablo from Edinboro is third-seeded former All-PSAC selection Ruben Acuna and all-conference honoree from Mercyhurst, David Akinpetide.

In Men’s Doubles, Akinpetide is joined by partner Milan Jankovic as the top seed. The pair was first team all-conference last year. Fellow first team Doubles honorees in Martinez and Frank Yanni of Millersville are seeded second.

Other programs represented for the Men will be Bloomsburg, Shepherd, Kutztown and West Chester.

On the Women’s Singles side, Karoline Kirchtag of IUP is the top seed. Her and fellow IUP teammate and All-PSAC West First Teamer Katy Graydon is the third seed, and Natasha Mundy of the Crimson Hawks is the fourth seed. Between the trio of IUP student-athletes is Slippery Rock’s First-Team All-PSAC Honoree, Lois Page.

Over in Doubles, the team of Graydon and Kirchtag of IUP is the top seed followed by their fellow IUP teammates in Natasha Munday and Joanna Stralka. Slippery Rock’s Page and 2020-21 PSAC West Athlete of the Year Adriana Gonzalez Sanchez are the third seed. Rounding out the top four Doubles seeds for the women is Millersville’s Julie Wallace and Noelle Htwar.

Other programs represented for the Women will be Cal U, Bloomsburg, Shepherd, Seton Hill, Clarion, Kutztown, Lock Haven, Shippensburg and Edinboro.

Full brackets will be posted Friday. For the full schedule of events, see below:
