LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its Cross Country Athletes of the Week. East Stroudsburg's Bri Hennett was selected as the Women's Cross Country Athlete of the Week, while Shippensburg's Garrett Quinan earned the Men's Cross Country Athlete of the Week honor for the second consecutive week.

Bri Hennett guided the East Stroudsburg University women's cross country team to an 8th place finish out of 36 teams at the 49th Paul Short Run on Saturday. The freshman recorded a fifth place finish in the White 6K after crossing the line in 22:37.8, which was the lowest time of any PSAC competitor in the event.

Sophomore Garrett Quinan finished fifth in the ‘Brown’ race at the Paul Short Run with a new personal best of 25:06 to pace the Raiders. Running in his 11th collegiate cross country race Saturday (seventh 8K), Quinan enhanced his PR by 21 seconds (25:27 at last year's PSAC Championships). Shippensburg finished second in the team standings, defeating 45 opponents, and are now 84-1 through the first four meets of the season. The Raiders (163 points) were only bested Saturday by NCAA Division I opponent Central Connecticut, who finished second in the Northeast Conference (NEC) last season. SU bested numerous D-I opponents in Saturday's race, including George Washington (165), Columbia (166) and Rider (189). NCAA Division III powerhouse Middlebury finished sixth (246). Quinan was the Top D2 finisher in the race; Cal PA's Jonathan Thrush was ninth (25:13).
