PSAC runners complete seasons at NCAA DII Cross Country Championships; Edinboro's Kylie Anicic earns All-America honors with 12th place finish

Edinboro's Kylie Anicic earned back-to-back All-America honors with a 12th-place finish at the 2023 NCAA Division II Women's Cross Country Championships, posting a time of 20:12.2. The next-highest finisher from the PSAC was Lock Haven's Elaina Klinger in 69th place in 21:11.4, with East Stroudsburg's Bri Hennett in 88th place with as time of 21:28.6. Bloomsburg's Kelley Selheimer crossed the finish line in 90th place (time of 21:29.5) while California's Malia Anderson came in 137th place with a time of 22:00.2.

Slippery Rock's PSAC champion women's team finished 31st overall with 949 points, with the lineup including Anna Igims (99th place), Chelsea Hunt (230), Maddie Grillo (244), Jennifer Cichra (249), Maddy Murtland (250), Ruthie Hughes (257), and Katie Plassio (260).

In the men's race, Shippensburg's men's team finished in 31st place overall with 824 points. Garrett Quinan was the Raiders' and the PSAC's top finisher in 66th place with a time of 30:47.9, followed by teammates Hayden Hunt (188th place), Aiden Gonder (211), Nathan Harding (220), Kevin Wagner (237), Ryan Wolfe (250), and Ian Sherlock (251). The Slippery Rock duo of Joey Cintavey (151th place) and Ethan Brentham (183rd) also competed.
 



INDIANAPOLIS -The NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Committee has announced the participants for the 2023 NCAA Division II Men’s and Women’s Cross Country Championships, with the PSAC qualifying two teams (the Shippensburg men and Slippery Rock women) and seven individuals:

In order to be eligible to participate in the championships, teams and individuals had to qualify in their respective NCAA regional competitions that were held this past weekend.

Thirty-four teams were selected to participate in each championship. The top three, seven-person teams automatically qualified from each of the eight regions, for a total of 24 teams. Ten additional teams were selected at-large. A minimum of 24 additional individuals were selected to participate in each championship through an automatic qualifier and at-large selection process.

The championships will be held on Saturday, Nov. 18 at Tom Rutledge Cross Country Course in Joplin, Mo. Missouri Southern State University will serve as the host. The women’s race will begin at 11 a.m. ET, followed by the men’s race at 12:15 p.m. ET.

A live web stream of the championships will occur on www.ncaa.com from 11:00 a.m. ET until the conclusion of the awards ceremony.
