PSAC Men's Basketball Athletes of the Week - 4

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. --- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference has announced its Men’s Basketball Athletes of the Week. In the West, IUP's Garvin Clarke (Athlete of the Week) and Mercyhurst's Alexander Parks (Defensive Athlete) were selected. In the East, West Chester's Elijah Allen (Athlete) and Lock Haven's Dyson Harward (Defense) earned the honors.

Clarke logged an impressive performance in IUP's 74-64 win over Point Park, flirting with a triple-double on Sunday, Dec. 10. He poured in a career-high 22 points along with eight assists, nine rebounds, and three steals from his guard position. The Crimson Hawks are 5-3 overall on the young season and have won four games in a row.

Parks was part of a historic defensive effort by Mercyhurst in last Friday's 83-24 victory over Fredonia, with the 24 points the fewest ever allowed by a Laker team. Parks tallied six steals and eight rebounds in his 26 minutes on the floor while also chipping in with nine points and an assist on the offensive end.

Allen impressed in last Saturday's 89-73 win over Goldey-Beacomn, scoring 26 points, coming away with four rebounds, and dishing out a career-high seven assists in the Golden Rams' non-conference finale. With the effort, Allen has scored in double figures in each of the last six games--and has scored 20 or more in three of those games, including each of the last two. Allen also came away with three steals in the victory, helping West Chester force a season-high 22 turnovers.

Harward led the Bald Eagles on Saturday at Wilmington, Del. with a monster 19-point, 16-rebound double-double. The graduate student added two blocks and a steal on his career day with the Bald Eagles.
