PSAC Women's Volleyball Athletes of the Week - 6

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its Women's Volleyball Athletes of the Week honorees. In the West, Gannon's Lauren Atwell was selected as Athlete of the Week while Edinboro's Maggie Koster was named Defensive Athlete of the Week. In the East, the Shippensburg pair of Hailey Cappleman (Athlete) and Shay Kolivoski (Defensive) earned the honors.

Western Division Athlete of the Week

Atwell powered Gannon to a 3–0 week and a pair of PSAC West road victories, helping the Golden Knights improve to 14–4 overall and 5–0 in conference play. She led the team with 30 kills (2.50 per set) while hitting a blistering .529 with only three errors on 51 total attacks. Atwell also added 13 total blocks (1.08 per set) and finished the week with 39.0 points (3.25 per set.)
 



Western Division Defensive Athlete of the Week

Koster paced the Edinboro block in a pair of road PSAC West victories this week, 3-0 at Slippery Rock and 3-1 at Clarion. She tallied 10 blocks while also notching nine kills. Against Slippery Rock, Koster tallied eight blocks including a pair of solos to go with six kills. In the win over Clarion, she notched two blocks with one solo as well as three kills.
 



Eastern Division Athlete of the Week

Cappleman totaled 34 kills, swung .389 from the floor on 72 attempts, and collected 11 blocks (one solo, 10 assisted) in a 3-0 week for the Raiders that included sweeps of Chestnut Hill and East Stroudsburg and a five-setter over Kutztown. She averaged three kills and one block per set. After a dominant 14-kill, 1-error, 6-block effort in which she hit .722 in the win over Chestnut Hill, Cappleman delivered seven kills and hit .300 in the win over ESU. In Saturday's marathon win over Kutztown, Cappleman had 13 kills, swung .265, and had five blocks. Shippensburg currently is atop the PSAC East in the standings.
 



Eastern Division Defensive Athlete of the Week

Kolivoski, the PSAC's leader in total digs, totaled 56 digs in a 3-0 week for the Raiders that included a home sweep of ESU and a five-set win over Kutztown that has Shippensburg atop the PSAC East. She averaged 5.09 digs per set, totaled 12 assists and served one ace. She also handled 43 of 45 reception attempts. Against Kutztown, Kolivoski matched her career high with 29 digs in addition to passing out eight assists.
