LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference has announced its Men’s Basketball Athletes of the Week. In the East, Shippensburg's Markus Frank (Athlete of the Week) and Millersville's Dante Weise (Defensive Athlete of the Week) were honored. In the West, Edinboro's Bryce Baez (Athlete) and Clarion's Jeremy Thomas II (Defensive) were selected.

Frank averaged 24.5 points per game on 55.6 percent shooting (20-36) from the field and 42.9 percent from three in a 2-0 week for the Raiders. The SU guard's best effort came in Friday's win over previously unbeaten Wilmington (Del.). He poured in a season-best 32 points on 56.5 percent shooting (13-23) and hit the game-winning basket in overtime to beat the Wildcats at home, 95-94. He scored a pair of fast break buckets to help the Raiders erase an 11-point deficit in the final five minutes of regulation, and put back his own miss to give SU the lead to cap the Raider comeback with under 10 seconds remaining in overtime. Additionally, Frank scored 17 points on 7-of-13 shooting (53.8 percent) and hit the game-winning free throws in a Wednesday home win over Chestnut Hill, 67-65.

Weise totaled nine rebounds, four steals and a blocked shot in addition to scoring a career-high 20 points in a win over Jefferson. Weise came off the bench in both games and played outstanding defense, sparking Millersville to a win over previously undefeated Jefferson. In that game, Weise helped Millersville hold Jefferson to 38.3% shooting from the field and helped create 17 Jefferson turnovers.

Baez was dominant at both ends of the floor for the Fighting Scots in a pair of non-conference wins last week over Point Park and Roberts Wesleyan. He averaged 20.0 points and 14.0 rebounds, recording double-doubles in both contests and averaged 8.0 offensive boards per game. Against Point Park, Baez notched 27 points, 13 rebounds and two assists. In the win over Roberts Wesleyan he tallied 13 points to go with 15 rebounds, two assists, two blocks and a steal.

Thomas II recorded the only triple-double in NCAA Division II to date last week, as part of the Golden Eagles' win over Frostburg State early in the week. The redshirt junior forward logged 10 points, 11 rebounds, 10 assists, in the victory over the Bobcats, making him the only player in the country this year to log a triple-double. Thomas went on to put up 2 blocks 11 points against Lake Erie on Saturday.
