PSAC Men's Basketball Athletes of the Week - 3

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference has announced its Men’s Basketball Athletes of the Week. In the East, Millersville's Cesar Tchilombo (Athlete of the Week) and Lock Haven's Blake Deegan (Defensive Athlete of the Week) were honored. In the West, Pitt-Johnstown's Baden Forup (Athlete) and Slippery Rock's Elijah Hill (Defensive) were selected.

Tchilombo led Millersville to a win over Wilson College with a double-double of 19 points and 13 rebounds in just 20 minutes of playing time. He posted a double-double of 18 and 10 in the first half alone. He set career highs in both categories and made 8 of 11 shots from the field.

The Haven was led defensively this past week by Deegan, who had two steals against Roberts Wesleyan, a team-high. Deegan also had a thunderous rejection in the second half, which sparked the late comeback and was key to the 88-83 victory. Deegan also collected a team-high 11 rebounds, securing a double-double.

Forup averaged a double-double with 21.5 points, 12.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and 1.0 steals in two UPJ wins over Point Park and Davis & Elkins last week.  He scored a game-high 25 points (9-16 FG, 7-7 FT), tied for game-high 11 rebounds, and added two assists and two steals in the 92-75 home win over Point Park on Tuesday and followed it up with 18 points (9-15 FG), a career and game-high 14 rebounds, and two ssists in the 92-71 win at Davis & Elkins (WV) on Saturday

Hill helped the surging Slippery Rock men’s basketball team to another perfect record last week with convincing double-digit non-conference victories over Glenville State (92-81) and D’Youville (85-68). In two games, Hill totaled eight defensive rebounds, three steals and a block while also averaging 11.5 points per game on offense. Hill had one block and one steal in SRU’s win vs. Glenville State before tallying two steals as part of a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double at D’Youville. Across the Atlantic Region, no other team has more victories than Slippery Rock does this season – Seton Hill and Virginia Union are both 5-1 as well, while Shaw is 5-0.
