LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – Isaiah Vance of Pitt-Johnstown headlines the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference’s 2024-25 Wrestling Major Awards, as he was announced as the Athlete of the Year on Friday afternoon. Gannon’s Pat Jackson was selected as Freshman of the Year and Kutztown head coach Robert Fisher earned Coach of the Year honors for the second time in his career (and first since the 2018-19 season.) Along with the Major Award winners, First, Second, and Third-Team All-Conference selections were also announced. A complete list can be found below.
PSAC All-Conference teams and Major Award winners are decided by a vote of the conference’s head coaches.
Isaiah Vance, a Pitt-Johnstown redshirt junior, was selected as PSAC Wrestling Athlete of the Year after his NCAA Division II runner-up finish at 285 pounds. He also earned runner-up honors at the Super Region 1 meet and finished the season with an overall record of 26-5 along with a 5-0 record in PSAC dual meets. With his finish at the national meet, Vance was named All-America for the second time in his career. He has also been named PSAC All-Conference for three consecutive seasons, with a Second Team award in 2022-23 followed by back-to-back First Team selections.
Gannon’s Pat Jackson is the 2024-25 PSAC Wrestling Freshman of the Year after claiming a Super Region 1 championship and qualifying for the national meet in his debut season. He finished the year with an overall record of 22-8 that included a 4-1 mark in PSAC dual meets.
Kutztown head coach Robert Fisher earns his second career conference Coach of the Year honor after guiding the Golden Bears to a program-best eighth-place finish at the 2025 NCAA Division II Championship. KU put four wrestlers on the podium with All-America honors, which was also a program record. Kutztown finished the regular season with an 11-1 overall record (5-1 in PSAC dual meets) while Fisher, in his 24
th season in charge, also surpassed 250 wins in his career.
Gannon University led the way with a total of nine All-Conference selections across the three teams. Pitt-Johnstown followed with eight selections but boasts the most First Team selections of any institution with four. Kutztown had three First Team selections and seven overall.
