LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced the 2025 Women’s Outdoor Track & Field Major Award winners on Thursday afternoon.
The awards are determined by a vote of the conference's head coaches. The top three finishers in each event at the 2025 PSAC Outdoor Championships are recognized as all-conference performers. Find complete results here.
Track Athlete of the Year – Anna Igims, Slippery Rock
Field Athlete of the Year – Kelly Leszcynski, Bloomsburg
Freshman of the Year – Porschia Bennett, East Stroudsburg
Coaching Staff of the Year – Slippery Rock
Slippery Rock’s Anna Igims was voted Track Athlete of the Year after finishing as a First Team All-American in the 3000m steeplechase (seventh) at the 2025 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships. She was also PSAC champion in three events: the 1500m, the 5000m, and the 3000m steeplechase.
Bloomsburg’s Kelly Leszcynski was selected as Field Athlete of the Year. She became the 2025 NCAA Champion in the Women’s Javelin Throw with a distance of 52.07m – the furthest throw in Division II this season and the 12
th-best all-time in the division. She was also the PSAC champion in the event and broke her own school record twice during the spring.
East Stroudsburg’s Porschia Bennett collects the Freshman of the Year honor after a third-place finish in the High Jump (1.76m) at the NCAA Championships to become a First Team All-American and set an ESU freshman record. She finished second at the PSAC Championships.
The Slippery Rock coaching staff was honored with the Women’s Outdoor Coaching Staff of the Year award. The Rock women earned their 18
th PSAC title in program history (and second in the last three years), winning eight of the 21 events to finish with 171 total points, 74 points clear of second place.
