LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its 11th Wrestling Athlete of the Week for the 2025-26 season, with Shippensburg's Kyle von Schmidt earning the honor.

Von Schmidt was the 133-pound champion at the Ken Ober Memorial Tournament Saturday at Elizabethtown College. Von Schmidt went 4-0 to claim the title. He pinned his first two opponents, then grinded out a pair of close decisions in the semifinals and finals. The freshman came back from being down 7-0 inside the first minute to beat Messiah's Tyler Ratlidge in the semis, using the riding time point to seal the 9-8 decision. He then scored the lone takedown in a 4-2 decision over E-Town's Corey Cope in the final.
