LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its 12th Wrestling Athlete of the Week for the 2025-26 season, with Gannon's Joey Lyons earning the honor.

Lyons delivered one of the biggest wins of the weekend at 197 pounds, earning a 5–1 decision over Kutztown’s Wayne McIntyre as GU bested the Golden Bears, 29-8. Lyons, ranked No. 11 by The Open Mat and No. 10 in the NWCA rankings, knocked off McIntyre, who entered the match ranked No. 7 by NWCA and No. 8 by The Open Mat. With the win, Lyons improved to 22–2 overall this season and remains undefeated in dual competition at 9–0.
