Carver and her teammates had a busy week, competing in two dual meets in four days (Tuesday at IUP, Friday at home vs. Cal (Pa.) and Fairmont State). Against IUP, Carver won the 200-yard butterfly by touching the wall in 2:17.69. The swim was just two seconds off her personal best set at Gettysburg last year. She came back later in the meet to pace the Raiders in the 500-yard freestyle, placing third with a PSAC cut of 5:27.78, and swam the second leg of the 200-yard freestyle relay that posted a time of 1:42.40. In a Friday night tri-meet in which Shippensburg defeated both Fairmont and Cal, Carver delivered a victory in the first individual event of the night, the 1,000-yard freestyle, completing her laps with a time of 11:05.35 that satisfied the PSAC Championships' automatic qualifying standard. She then came back and immediately competed in the next event, placing second in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 2:00.78 that's also a PSAC cut. If that wasn't busy enough, she also swam in the 100-yard freestyle later on, finishing second in 55.61 seconds for another PSAC cut.

Luddecke delivered an outstanding performance for Bloomsburg in its dual meet at West Chester, winning two individual events and anchoring a victorious relay against the Golden Rams. Luddecke opened her individual competition with a victory in the 200 freestyle, touching the wall in 1:57.08 to edge West Chester's Greta Saville by 0.65 seconds. She followed with another tightly contested win in the 100 freestyle, finishing in 53.39 to hold off West Chester's Lava Piuva by just eight-hundredths of a second. Luddecke capped her performance by anchoring Bloomsburg's 400 freestyle relay to a thrilling victory. Entering the final leg trailing West Chester by 0.23 seconds, Luddecke delivered a 52.85 split to propel the Huskies to a winning time of 3:34.15, edging the Golden Rams by just 0.03 seconds.

Will Rees
West Chester
Breaststroke

York, Pa.

Rees won two individual events and helped the 200 medley relay to another first-place showing during the Golden Rams' dual meet win over Bloomsburg last Saturday. Rees posted a time of 56.91 seconds in the 100-yard breaststroke and a 1 minute, 53.89 seconds in the 200 individual medley. Both were season bests for the freshman. Those times are also the best in the PSAC in those events so far this season.
