Troy Nine, a junior goalkeeper from Lansdale, Pennsylvania, started in goal for Slippery Rock's lone game this week, a 1-1 draw versus Roberts Wesleyan. During the game, Nine recorded an assist on Slippery Rock's goal, just 31 seconds into the game as The Rock's marker was its fastest documented goal to start a game since 2005, when single-game records became available. Nine's assist was also Slippery Rock's first goalkeeper point since Kyle Hoffer's 90th minute game-tying goal in a, 3-2, double overtime victory against Shippensburg in 2015. Nine made four saves as well against the Redhawks.

In ESU's conference opener on Saturday, the Warriors found themselves down one goal with 11 minutes remaining in the game. In the 79th minute, Kiernan drilled in his first goal of the season, securing a crucial game-tying goal. Kiernan was a large part of ESU's strong offense that controlled much of the closing minutes.

Nate Herb
Shippensburg
Defender

Fleetwood, Pa. / Fleetwood Area

Herb scored a pair of set piece goals in the Raiders' 3-1 victory over Bloomsburg Wednesday. Herb helped the Raiders jump out to a 3-0 first half lead with a pair of headers, the first on a Mathieu Barbirati corner in the 13th minute, and the second on an Evan Brandt free kick at the 38-minute mark. The SU centerback also played a key role defensibly, holding the Huskies to just two second half shots on goal even as the opposition upped the pressure offensively. The win marked the Raiders' first over the Huskies in seven years (a 2-1 win on Sept. 18, 2019) and the first two-goal performance of Herb's career.
