PSAC Women's Volleyball Athletes of the Week - 5

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its Women's Volleyball Athletes of the Week honorees. In the East, East Stroudsburg's Kelly Crites (Athlete of the Week) and Lock Haven's Olivia Taylor (Defensive Athlete of the Week) earned the honors. In the West, IUP's Charlotte Potvin (Athlete) and Gannon's Gabby Beaubrun (Defensive) were recognized.

In a 2-0 week for ESU in PSAC action with wins over West Chester and Millersville, Crites totaled 26 kills (.377 combined hitting percentage in seven sets), with three aces, 24 digs, and three total blocks. She hit .361 against West Chester and .412 against Millersville.

Taylor anchored the Lock Haven women's volleyball team's defense during a challenging PSAC road weekend, totaling 58 digs and four service aces across two four-set matches.

Taylor opened the weekend with a standout performance against nationally competitive Shepherd, recording a match-high 25 digs while adding four service aces. She followed that performance with another dominant defensive effort at Shippensburg, posting a match-best 33 digs in Lock Haven's 3-1 PSAC Eastern Division victory. Her performance was instrumental in helping Lock Haven snap a 10-match losing streak against Shippensburg dating back to 2021. For the weekend, Taylor averaged 7.25 digs per set and her 33-dig performance against Shippensburg marked the fourth time this season she has surpassed 30 digs.

Potvin had one of the best weekends of her career, logging 28 kills on 46 total attack attempts (.543 hitting percentage), including a season-high .636 against Slippery Rock in a four-set match on Friday. She also recorded 16.0 total blocks, including five solo blocks. She recorded half of her solo blocks for the season in the nine sets last weekend.

Beaubrun anchored Gannon's defense during a 2-0 week, helping the Golden Knights improve to 3-0 in PSAC West play with victories over California (Pa.) and a gritty Seton Hill team. The freshman totaled a team-high 31 digs, averaging 4.43 digs per set, while recording a perfect 1.000 reception percentage on 14 attempts.  Beaubrun's defensive efforts helped Gannon hold its opponents to a combined .135 hitting percentage across seven sets.
