LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its Football Athletes of the Week for Week 6 of the 2025 season. In the Western Division, Slippery Rock's JayJay Jordan is the Offensive Athlete of the Week while Clarion's Griffin Buzzell (Defensive Athlete of the Week) and Andrew Kurtas (Special Teams Athlete of the Week) were also selected. In the Eastern Division, Shippensburg's Riley Gunnels is the Offensive Athlete of the Week and is joined by the Shepherd duo of Nathan Muhle (Defensive) and Klayton Batten (Special Teams.)

Jordan ran for 189 yards and one touchdown on just 13 carries for an average of 14.5 yards per carry in Slippery Rock's 49-7 victory at Seton Hill. Jordan has amassed 436 rushing yards in the last two weeks and ranks No. 1 in the PSAC in every rushing category. He ranks No. 3 in all of Division II in total rushing yards (892), No. 3 in rushing yards per game (148.7) and No. 2 in all-purpose yards per game (204.7).

Buzzell was a force on defense for the Golden Eagles, making a number of huge plays in what turned out to be a shootout win against Gannon at McConnell Family Stadium. Buzzell had a game-high 14 tackles and three sacks, making him the first Golden Eagle player to record three sacks in a game since Robert Lachmann in 2022. He also forced his third fumble of the season, the best mark in the PSAC West and one off the total conference lead. In total, Buzzell was the first Clarion player to record at least three sacks and one forced fumble in a game since Tyrone Archie on Sept. 19, 2015 against Cheyney.

Kurtas was a key component in helping the Golden Eagles to a 48-46 win over Gannon on the road on Saturday. The junior kicker was a perfect 6-for-6 on extra point attempts and booted six touchbacks in his nine kickoff attempts, but was 2-for-2 on field goal attempts with the game in the balance, with both makes coming in the last three minutes of play. He booted the game-winning kick with just four seconds remaining on the clock, with Kurtas kicking the ball through the uprights from 33 yards out to complete the fourth quarter comeback for Clarion.

Gunnels erupted for a career-high 412 passing yards in a 41-28 win over Millersville last Saturday, completing 27-of-44 passes with four touchdowns and zero interceptions. Gunnels is the first Raider quarterback to have a 300-yard passing game since Sam Johnson III achieved the feat (343 yards) on Sept. 24, 2022 in a 31-17 win at Bloomsburg. Gunnels' 412 passing yards are the most by a Raider quarterback in a single game since Mussina threw for 510 yards in a 42-28 loss to Kutztown on Oct. 20, 2018.

Muhle was a defensive force in Shepherd's 28-24 win over West Chester, recording a team-best eight tackles (six solo) in Shepherd's win over West Chester. He added four tackles-for-loss (-11 yards) and a pair of sacks (-7 yards.)
