PSAC Indoor Track & Field Athletes of the Week - 2

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. --- The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference released its second set of Men's and Women's Indoor Track and Field Athletes of the Week. For the women, West Chester's Kristina Tapia (Track) and Slippery Rock's Baylee Blauser (Field) were honored. For the men, West Chester's Josh Miller earned Track Athlete of the Week while Slippery Rock's Logan Gossard was selected as Field Athlete of the Week.

Tapia finished second in the 3K at the Wagner Seahawk Shootout at Ocean Breeze on Friday night with a PSAC Qualifying time of 10:01.74, which also served as a new PR and is the fastest time in the PSAC so far this season. The effort also ranks in the top-five in team history, trailing only Lisa Young (1984), Diana Dunn (2018), Sarah Supplee (2022), and Julie Bowers-Glavin (1985).

Blauser won the long jump at the University of Akron Friday night with an NCAA provisional mark of 5.74 meters, the best in the PSAC this year. She also took second in the triple jump Friday night at Akron with a leap of 11.55 meters, which ranks No. 2 in the PSAC this year.

Miller won the 3K at the Wagner Seahawk Shootout at Ocean Breeze on Friday night with a PSAC Qualifying and indoor program record time of 8 minutes and 20.30 seconds. The previous record had stood for 39 years. Miller’s time is also the fastest in the PSAC as the first month of the indoor season nears its conclusion.

Gossard cleared a career-best and NCAA provisional height of 4.95 meters in the pole vault at the University of Akron Friday night. His mark currently ranks No. 2 in the PSAC behind all-time conference record holder Drew Layton of SRU and currently ranks No. 9 among all athletes in Division II this year.
