PSAC Women's Tennis Athletes of the Week - 4

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its Women’s Tennis Athletes of the Week. In the West, Slippery Rock's Alissia Kivi earned the honor. In the East, East Stroudsburg's Ariel Kelsick was selected.

Kivi played an integral role in leading The Rock to a clean 7-0 sweep of Atlantic Region foe West Chester last week. In what was SRU’s first match in 21 days, Kivi first led The Rock’s No. 1 doubles team – the 34th ranked team in the nation – to a 6-0 victory before earning a 6-1, 6-0 win at No. 2 doubles over Asheligh Grooms. Kivi is now 11-1 overall in singles matches this season while she has partnered with Nicole Kempton to go 10-7.

Kelsick played a pivotal role in the Warriors' successful trip down to Florida, as ESU looks to continue its hot start to the spring season. Against Minnesota State Moorhead, Kelsick's victory was the dual-clinching win for the Warriors, pulling out a 4-3 win over the Dragons. Kelsick bested Katryna Hansen 6-1, 7-5, out of the second spot in the lineup. To close out the week against California (Pa.), Kelsick delivered her best performance of the three duals, winning both her appearances on the day. Paired with Jenna Kastell in the top doubles pairing, they defeated Leandra Guldimann and Sofia Rodriguez 6-1. Her momentum carried over into singles play, where she beat Diletta Maria Mungo 6-2, 6-4, as the Warriors came away with a huge regional win.
