PSAC Women's Tennis Athletes of the Week - 5

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its Women’s Tennis Athletes of the Week. In the West, Slippery Rock's Dari Sakhanova earned the honor. In the East, Millersville's Marian Hayes was selected.

Sakhanova played a pivotal role in leading The Rock to a 2-1 record during its spring break trip last week. SRU earned quality wins over both Texas A&M Kingsville (4-3) and Saint Leo (5-2), with its lone setback of the week coming against No. 31 Agnelo State (5-2). Individually, Sakhanova was virtually perfect as she was 2-1 in singles bouts and a flawless 3-0 in doubles competition alongside teammate Nadia Rodewald.

Hayes played a pivotal role in the Marauders’ 4-3 victory over Goldey-Beacom College, contributing in both doubles and singles action. In doubles, she teamed up with Mia Gassert to secure the overall doubles point with a clutch 7-6(4) win. In singles, Hayes continued her dominant spring campaign, improving to 3-0 in singles with a convincing 6-2, 6-1 victory.
