LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced its Women’s Tennis Athletes of the Week. In the West, Slippery Rock's Amaia Balaguer Brau earned the honor. In the East, East Stroudsburg's Jenna Kastell was selected.

Balaguer Brau led the nationally ranked Slippery Rock women’s tennis team to a pair of 7-0 PSAC West shutout victories over Seton Hill and Clarion. Individually, Balaguer Brau went 4-0 thanks to two wins at No. 1 singles and two victories out of the second doubles flight alongside partner Tina Slovak.

Kastell helped ESU continue its dominant spring season, leading the Warriors to two wins in two duals this week. In singles play as ESU's No. 3, she only dropped one game the entire week, winning 6-1, 6-0 over Scranton's Erin O'Mara, then sweeping Shippensburg's Rachel Gallagher with two 6-0 victories. In doubles play against the Raiders, she picked up a 7-6 win with a 7-2 tiebreak over Ava Kalist and Yasmin De Meyer. The Warriors opened up PSAC East play with a 7-0 win over the Raiders, winning every match in the dual. Kastell improved to 10-4 on the year in singles play, and has been a key contributor to the Warriors' 9-1 start to the spring, as ESU is riding a nine-dual winning streak.
