PSAC Men's Soccer Athlete of the Week - 4

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced it's fourth set of Men's Soccer Athletes of the Week for the 2026 season. In the East, East Stroudsburg's Steven Arias (Athlete of the Week) and West Chester's Jaden Howard (Defensive Athlete of the Week) were selected. From the West, Lock Haven's Austen Veach (Athlete of the Week) and Slippery Rock's Patrick Tierney (Defensive Athlete of the Week) received the honors.

Arias made a massive impact in both games this week for ESU. In the 3-3 contest against Lock Haven, the Warriors were down 2-1 before the junior scored the game-tying goal. The score turned out to be pivotal as it allowed for ESU to take a 3-2 lead that was cut in the final seconds of the game. Arias scored the lone goal for the Warriors in the conference matchup against Millersville, doing so in the fifth minute of the game and giving ESU the 1-0 victory.

Howard made 10 saves against Bloomsburg on Saturday afternoon to pick up his second win and shutout in three PSAC East starts as the Golden Rams held off the Huskies for a home opener victory.

Veach led Lock Haven offensively during a 1-0-1 road week, totaling two goals and one assist for five points in matches at East Stroudsburg and the University of the District of Columbia. Veach played a central role in Lock Haven’s 3-3 draw at East Stroudsburg on Sept. 16, scoring twice and adding an assist. He then helped the Bald Eagles close the week with a 1-0 road victory at the University of the District of Columbia on Sept. 19, Lock Haven’s first win of the season. Veach played in all 180 minutes across the two matches and his play on defense helped lead to the shutout. For the week, Veach accounted for two of the team’s four goals and directly contributed to three of its four scoring plays. As a defender, he entered the week as the team leader in scoring and, through seven matches, owns three goals and one assist for seven points.

Tierney, a senior defender from Chester, England, helped Slippery Rock to a 1-0-1 week overall. Tierney scored the game-tying goal in a 1-1 draw at Shippensburg in 90 minutes of action. Tierney played 29 minutes in SRU's 7-1 win over Daemen.
