PSAC Women's Soccer Athletes of the Week - 4

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. - The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference announced it's fourth set of Women's Soccer Athletes of the Week for the 2026 season. In the East, West Chester's Jordan Nguyen was selected as Athlete of the Week while Bloomsburg's Cassi Snyder earned Defensive Athlete of the Week honors. From the West, Gannon's Brooklyn Respecki (Athlete of the Week) and Seton Hill's Rhys Caplinger (Defensive Athlete of the Week) were recognized.

Nguyen scored four goals last week, including a hat trick against Mansfield on Saturday to help the fourth-ranked West University women’s soccer team to a 1-0-1 week. Nguyen has now scored in each of the Golden Rams last three games, scoring five goals in that span after scoring the first goal at Shippensburg on September 12th, the tying goal vs Millersville on September 16th and the eventual game-winner in a 5-0 win over Mansfield on Saturday. Nguyen scored her hat trickin just 28 minutes of action against Mansfield on Saturday, scoring her first two goals in the 19th and 22nd minutes before completing the hat trick in the 48th minute as she became the fourth Golden Ram in the last three seasons to score a hat trick.

Snyder helped Bloomsburg go 2-0 last week, featuring a 5-0 win over Lackawanna and a 2-1 victory over No. 17 Kutztown. Aided the Huskies in their third shutout of the season with the win over the Falcons. Lifted Bloomsburg past the Golden Bears with her game-winning goal, handing Kutztown its first defeat of the season. Supported the Huskies in keeping Kutztown's top five goal scorers from finding the back of the net. Kept a team averaging 3.71 goals per contest entering the day to just one goal. Blocked a would-be goal just along the six-yard box to deny the Golden Bears an equalizer in the 76th minute of the match.

Respecki led Gannon offensively during a 2-0 week, scoring four goals for eight points while accounting for four of the Golden Knights' five goals. She scored the game-winning goal in both victories and also netted the opening goal in each match. Respecki finished the week with 18 shots, including 10 on goal, as the Golden Knights improved to 4-2-1 in PSAC West play.

Caplinger was 1-0-1 on the week in PSAC West action.  She finished the week allowing 1 goal and making 8 saves.  Rhys made 6 saves in the Griffins 1-0 shutout win over PSAC West leading Slippery Rock.
